sitting on heads

Our sheepie likes to sit on our heads when we lie on the floor. We met a guy in the airport who said his OES did the same.

The process involves him reversing a few steps before sitting with considerable force on our heads.

Does anyone else's dog do this? and why is he so particular about where he places his bottom?

Yes Tiggy backs up a few steps and specifically aims for our head, then plop!
No idea why she aims for our heads but it seems pretty deliberate.
lol... my Kody will do this as well if we are on the floor, only he goes one step further...if you are sitting on the couch he will climb on you and then he shifts positions and will sit down on my shoulder/neck 8O . At first I thought it was because my husband was talking to him and distracted him from his ultimate target and he mistakenly sat down where he was at, however this now happens on a regular basis when he thinks he wants to play or snuggle. It's funny, I let it go one day to see how long he would sit there thinking he would move right away :lmt: ...no such luck, after a couple of minutes I finally made him get down or I believe he would have sat there all night. They are funny furbabies!
Charlie does it too!! When he's rough-housing with Libby, he'll sit on her head all the time. Then, when we're sitting on the couch, he climbs up, turns around, and plops down on our shoulder like a big furry parrot. He's too funny!! Glad to know he's not the only ding-dong!!
It must be a sheepie thing LOL  because Holly does it as well!! And if my daughter or boyfriend come to give me a kiss BOOM Holly is between me and that person.... she doesn't nip she just doesn't want anyone next to her mama! Last night as I was laying on the couch minding my own business my daughter came over to give me a hug and Holly jumped up on my and covered my whole body with hers!!!
Yep. Hudson loves to sit on heads. But he's also okay to do so while you are standing up. He jumps still (we're working on it) and tries to climb up on your shoulders to get there.

We've taken to introducing him as, "Hi, this is Hudson. He'll be your hat today."

I wish I could at least report something good that Hudson does. I'm definitely looking for it.
