Thanks to all of you who who left nice comments about Oliver's new "do" last week: it definitely boosted his confidence. Here are a few more photos if anyone is interested. I still miss the shaggy look but this seems to suit him pretty well at the moment, even though that bushy tail makes him look a bit like a beaver! He still has a lot of filling out to do but as you can see he has reached his full height (pretty tall, about 28" at the withers) but he still needs to grow into that lanky frame and big head and feet! But he is only 16 months old after all.

Best wishes,

Lee

Hi. I was wondering what the laws were regarding tail docking in the Netherlands? In Aust it is against the law. I think the law came into force 5 to 8 years ago, I'm not sure when. Any one who docks a dogs tail (any breed) is fined about $25,000. A vet that docks a tail for cosmetic reasons is fined about $45,000 and loses their licence. Tail docking is o.k. for medical reasons. ($ that's per dog). And your right! We refer to them as bench clearers! If you have had oes dogs all your life, tails are very hard to get used to, though I must admit they are good to grab when trying to get their attention!
ah the waggy draft makers!

Looking forward to the summer when it will be gladly welcome, not such a hit in the chillier time of year.

For dogs that used to be docked - boy do they wag!, did it scare sheep?
