So do or don't touch the belly?

Will it look funny if I keep clipping their hair on his belly but let his hair grow out?

I just love how different his coat is from Yuki. I mean, I like Yuki's b/c it's soft b/c she's not bred correctly. ...but everyone comments on how nice it feels, BUT Mequpak's hair is so ....hmmm, durable. Like when I put in a topknot, it just LOOKS so much better. His hair grows faster than hers too, and I seem to get a lot less hair falling off when I brush than I did w/my other one.

I'm hoping this puppy coat change crap isn't too difficult.

Anyway... tummies?

I'm there myself with Jack. What to do. We have cold weather coming tomorrow so not the time to be shaving. I'd say for the little one, shave but use a blade that leaves as much as you can get by.

How nice you have two different coats to compare. MO is a softie with no undercoat, Jack is more wirey but I suspect your M-pack's will be even more to breed.
I keep piggy Morgan's belly short.
Not showing equals naked tummy!
As it gets longer, you won't even be able to tell if it's there or not. Just don't clip too far forward otherwise you'll see the shaved part when he sits. Just do it more like an enhanced sanitary cut. :)
When Violet was a pup, I used to have the groomer shave her belly...so there would be no matts. You would never know by looking at her that her tummy was shaved.
You can shave the belly down through the groin, armpits, easily. Then just blend it a bit with the rest - it will never show. It will make the transition grooming a lot easier, be cleaner, and way cooler for your southern pup. :D :D
Any picture you see of Obe his belly is shaved. I think it's about an inch long. Makes it so much easier when we go walking through the woods, which he has turned into a daily routine.
on our most recent groom, my girls were really badly matted and I read here about having their bellies shaved. So I asked the groomer to do it, and what a relief its been! Plus; with how warm they get, I know it feels good to them to have that area kept short.
I leave Ru's belly hair because it stops him peeing down his legs, it just runs off one place.
