Had Ollie shaved - what do you think?

Hopefully you can see my attached photos of Ollie who was just shaved down with a 0.9mm shaving blade. It is pretty short. And as he is still filling out (at 15 months) he looks a bit awkward and gawky. We had it done as we live in between a forest and a beach and Ollie is playing in either of those locations every day and was permanently soaking and filthy. He is very clever at finding the muddiest part of the forest and the bit of the beach with the dampest, claggiest sand. Also he has a little fold or pocket of skin under his mouth which collects bits of food and is prone to infection so the vet advises us to shave his beard and mouth area anyway and a long haired sheepie with a short shaved face looks quite strange, in my view, or at least he did.

Ollie seems very comfortable with shaved hair, no itchies or anything like that, and it was great to take him in the forest for two hours today running around with a bunch of other dogs and see that all the dirt had fallen off by the time we got home. I was a bit chocked when I collected him from the groomer but it is growing on me now although I do feel some guilt that he does not look like what many people think an OES should look like. Maybe when he is older and we move back to the city we can let it grow out again. Also, he looks so tall now! Hard to see that in these two photos but he is actually already at the top end of the breed standard height and he weighs 42 kilos (over 90lbs) although that included the hair ....

Best wishes.

Lee

Ollie looks very handsome :aww:
Very cute clip he looks great. :D In the first photo he looks like he is giving you the evil eye

Great job and still looks fuzzy.
Ollie looks really cute. :hearts:

Its great to see what a shaved sheepie with a tail looks like, I've wondered.
He looks better shaved than he would look all dirty so I think you're smart to go with what works. Now he can have fun and you dont get home with a big grot.
He looks lovely. Summer is going to get a hair cut any day now I am so fed up with the tumble weed along the passage and my trousers being covered with hair. I like his tail, we are never quite sure what to do with tails!
he looks very good! I especially like his face and tail; nice work!
Very nice job - he looks all smooth and fluffy. I bet you two will enjoy your outings a lot more now. :D
He certainly looks like he is plotting to get you back in that second picture

I don't know how you guys cope with clippers and scissors etc, Archie is a right fidget bum

He's be covered in Pink plasters!
He's still a fuzz bug. This will be easier for such an adventuresome boy. Love the facial expressions!
:aww: :aww: :aww:
I love the tail!!!
