Advanced RALLY Trial...our first!!!!!!!!

On Saturday Heart will enter the ring for her first Advanced Rally trial.

It will be so very different from Novice Rally since it is done off lead.

We have been to a couple of Advanced Rally classes to learn the (sometimes) difficult signs -----and just to get us thoroughly confused our instructor throws in Excellent signs to make sure we are paying attention --- ((and to get us used to the Excellent signs)) since there are no Excellent Rally classes yet.....  ---

Of course I am very unsure of all the signs and of Heart and of myself and of just all of it!!!!

I can tell you that I have taken Heart off lead in class to see how she will do and one time she did great :D :D ......and next time she did terrible    ....

I am not holding out too much hope for success this weekend...but I am sure we will have fun and meet some great people!!!!

I just hope when she does decide to 'leave' the ring in the middle of our run, there will be someone there to grab her!!!!!!

Good Luck Val and Heart :hearts:
You both will do great!
Good luck - too bad you don't have local show and go's to proof the off leash behavior.

We want video :D
We can video but we can't upload it. LOL

You are asking way too much.

I am more optimistic than Val but I am going to insist that she take that dog off leash tonight at class. Plus we will be meeting a couple of times this week so it should be interesting. Harry has never worked at his house or Heart's off leash since he cannot be trusted not to play with his best bud.
Practice and have faith. If you don't have high expectations, they won't succeed!

Good luck! :D
Good Luck Val & Heart!!

I can commiserate with your nervousness, but you have to have faith in your girl! She'll be great. And if it's not perfect, not to worry, its all about learning and gaining experience.

(easy for me to say since we haven't even started novice classes yet - )
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Good luck Val and Heart!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
You'll love this, Val:
Sybil will not be permitted to do advanced until we have the offset figure 8 down.

With Belle and her lovely attention heeling it was never an issue. She never knew there WAS tempting stuff in the ring with her.

Well, I had Sybil at a run-thru and the first time we did the offset figure 8 she about had a fit over the toy. She didn't grab it (miraculously). She just refused to continue on. Stood there kind of pointing at it (raising yet more questions about her murky genetic past   )

- MOM!!! Somebody dropped something!.
- Fine. Leave it!
- But MOM, somebody dropped something!
- Yeah, I get that. Leave it!

Not a chance. I finally had to pick her up and carry her past the station

We'll work on that....

Good luck this weekend and remember, no matter what happens, if you can walk out of the ring still laughing at yourself and your dog, nothing else really matters

I seems that's all I do is laugh...I know a HUGE part of my problem is MEEEEEEE....Heart will just look at me, like"""????????? What the????""" she does try so hard.....
I would actually pay to see you carry Heart, Val!!!

Kristine and Sybil...........that's another story. 8)

I might as well add the wish for good wishes to Chewie and I this weekend, please.
We are in a rally trial as well on Saturday and Sunday.
Going for more RAE legs. :D

I hope we have a chance to laugh as well.
Maureen has Hilda entered in RAE as well, so we are hoping to WOW them all with stellar OES performances!!! :clappurple:

OK.....I don't know if you have ribboned with another sheepie before. (((We have))))......so here are some suggestions.....

When finding out Chewy placed 1st and Hilda placed 2nd (((or vise versa)):::::::

1---DO NOT....under ANY circumstances stand up and yell~~~~"""SHEEPIES RULE!!!"""" Since THEY will probably be the only 2 sheepies in the whole place!!!!!

2 Smile 'sheepily' with eyes lowered humbiliy......TRY really hard to BLUSH,,,,head shaking...(pretend that you cannot not believe that 2 OES's, the CLOWNS of the dog breed could actually medal!!!)

and finally....as you are walking away with your prizes...both you and your sheepdogs, bow deeply at the waist, in unison, in appreciation and gratitude~~~~~~

THEN ..post pics on the forum so we all can smile knowing that ...OF COURSE YOU GUYS DID GREAT!!!! WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE EXPECT FROM THIS AMAZING BREED!!!!!!!

:P :) :) :)

Good luck to BOTH teams for successful runs and Q's
