popping in kennel

I have been having the same problem. Lexie is going on four and just in the last couple of months has started pooping in her kennel at night.
The kennel is not to big , she has a pillow and blanket in with her. She
eats in the moring so there is lots of time for her system to digest the food and remove it. her last time out is at 10 pm but she doesn't do anything then she waits until about 2am and then startes scraching in her cage and when I take her out she will poop if not she go's in her kennel. Getting tired of having to get up after falling asleep.

Is she getting as much exercise as she was during warmer weather? If not, an extra walk in the evening may help speed the processing of food through her system. Any change in food may cause things to move through the system faster. We've also tried feeding the dogs in the late afternoon rather than waiting until our dinner time. That made a big difference in the dog's sleep patterns.
