eye color?

Hi!

My name is Deanna and I just got my little puppy last weekend! He is adorable - his name is General Harry P. McSheeperson (but we call him The General!)

I'm in love already! I do have a quick question, I'm just curious about his eye color ( 8O ). Right now, they are dark...but in the sunlight they look blue. He is just now 8 weeks old, so I was wondering if they could still change? I've been trying to find out info on it, but haven't had much luck.

If anyone knows please help! I'm so curious!

Thanks again!

deanna

Eye color can change from puppyhood, but I'm not the right person to be answering your question. Hopefully some other puppy-experienced people will hop in!

Welcome to the community!
Hello Deanna, My dog Luaka had one blue and one brown eye. When I took her home as a puppy at 10 weeks her eyes were that colour and stayed that way. The blue eye is referred to as a "china" eye. Luaka's mom also had one of each but the other 5 puppies in the litter all had
brown. Two blue eyes are not quite as common. So you do not have to wait long before you know "The General's" eye colour. (I hope they are both blue). Tee hee.
Hi Deanna welcome also to the forum.

Now eyes, when baby puppers first open there eyes they all have a blue hue to them then they clear out to there colours as the weeks go by. Dark, wall eye or even two blues.

by 8 weeks if there dark then that is probably the colour they are going to be, maybe with that slight blue hue to them for a little while yet in bright sunlight.

Having said that with my last litter I had a surprise much later with 2 blue eyes. My hubby said I think this one has two blues, told him Nah as usually with these lines all seemed over the years to have thrown dark eyes. Years ago with did have one born in a litter with wall eyes, again unexpected and that took awhile to realise too. So not expecting two blues at all it took awhile to say GAWD your right. Also being busy with 8 little bouncy babies I did not realise until he was serveral weeks old his eye colour. :?

Shaved reflects your posting status. As you post more, you get a different name - with more hair!

Some of us post too much so we have moved on to other names..

Welcome!
The General is absolutely adorable--we used to live in Alpharetta!! Great place!
