No see 'em bites

Every year when we go to Key West, I am eaten alive by no see'ems. I think some people call these nasty critters chiggers.

I have a very bad reaction to the bites, and look like I have some terrible skin disorder. Sometimes it's so bad, I get physically ill from them.

Last year someone in KW told me to take (blank) for a month before the trip, and it would change my chemistry and make me undesirable to the bugs.

HOWEVER...NOW THAT I'M 59, I CANNOT REMEMBER WHAT BLANK IS!!!!

Do any of you know what it maybe. I'm sorta thinking extra vitamin B, but that doesn't make sense to me.

Help! I don't want to go through it again!

Maybe extra scotch?
How about the vodka LOl
From my post it can be used for everything
I've tried the Vodka/scotch combo....EVERY YEAR!!!!

It helps everything but the bites!!!

Maybe I'm not drinking enough! Naw......
Could it be garlic? Some people swear that keep mosquitoes (and vampires) away.
Actually the Vit B sounds like it might work. You can take all you want of it, as it is water souluble and you will pee it out. So I would try the B complex to see it works. Have you tried to google it????

Funny you should ask that! I did just google it, and you guys are brilliant, as usual. Apparently this is what I need to do:

B1 50mg 2x daily
Garlic 2 caps 3x daily
B complex 50mg 1x daily

I sure hope it works!

Re: B vitamins in quantity

CVS (and probably many others) make a B-50 and B-150 tablet. From experience, you should be aware that taking one will likely turn your urine a very bright yellow. Also, you might feel a few hot flashes (in some people's cases, a few more hot flashes 8) ). It may also affect your cholesterol in a positive way (increasing HDL, lowering LDL a tiny bit.)
