Up Up and Away

I've never experienced flying in such a small plane!!!
I had never experienced actually walking onto a plane from the ground or bending down to get to my seat. I'm only 5'2! Or have the pilot say if anyone needs a cab from the airport please put up your hand. I guess this classifies as the adventure!

My adventure this weekend when visiting the Sunshine Coast of BC.

WOW!!! Marianne...I would be sooo nervous getting into that small plane, but the view and your pictures are spectacular!!!! How was the take off and landing?????
Hope you enjoyed your flight :D My oldest son had his own plane for awhile and I would never get into it, he scared me with his 1st motorcycle and with his 1st car and I was not about to let him do it to me in his 1st plane
Jean, that is tooooo funny.

I flew in small planes like that for island hops in Hawaii. It was so long ago (college days, was 19 8) ), I hadn't thought about it in years!

I hope you had a fun trip - any more pictures??

And your post title had me finishing the line.... in my beautiful, my beautiful balloon!

(Dates me, doesn't it.... )
Wow! Did you see any bear?
Love the pictures!! Bet you had a great time!

Small planes can be a kick! My most memorable was flying to Denver on a commuter airlines. I forgot my rule about not flying in summer after 11 a.m......turbulence. While still on the ground the pilot turned around and asked if anyone gets air sick. I meekly raised my hand.......there were 3 passengers on a 20 seat plane. He said the turbulence coming down the Continental Divide was wicked so he'd plan a new route, but first we had to stop in Santa Fe.......only 60 miles away to drop of one of the passenger! 8O I meekly suggested we ought to call ahead for pizza a beer  and he turned around and said, "That's a fine idea!" Yep a pizza (no beer) was waiting at the airport!

Time to head to Denver he takes out his maps and plans a new route to avoid the turbulence! Very disconcerting to watch the pilot fly with an air map spread across his controls.......but we made it with a very smooth flight!
I was on a small plane like that from the Bahamas to Miami. I'm a terrible flyer anyways, and sort of hated it. My boss sat across the aisle from me, about 2 rows back. He was 6'5, and had to put his feet up on my armrest! (I'll never forget, he had on black socks with sandels. That image is in my memory forever!)

Someone in our group asked the (very young looking) pilot how long he had been flying, and he calmly replied, Oh, this is my second week. I almost wet myself!!

He, of course, was just kidding!
That looks like so much fun!
(if your not a chicken  )
Thanks for the lovely pics!
I was the only one in my family without a pilots license. When i was 8 years old, my dad flew back in a small cesena to pick me up from visiting a friend... I was asleep on the back seat laying down when he and the guy piloting the plane decided to do one of those ol' sky king hard left and down moves to go look at a oil well.......... I came up thinking we were going down..................

When i was 16 my parents made me go down with an instructor for a week......... I flew 4 times a day in Midland weather permitting. I solo'd in one week. I love take off and landings, but would rather sit in the back with a nice drink.......... ;0)

never got my pilots license. But would like to go back and fly again.........sure would be faster to take the dogs to go to shows.
The last small plane I flew in was in China . We were told to turn off all phones etc, but during the landing a phone buzzed and a huge security guy jumped accross me and landed on the guy with the offending buzz. I got such a fright I screamed in fear and tightened every muscle in my body. For three weeks I struggled to walk around China with my right bum cheek frozen solid. I just couldn't make it relax. I was sooo embarassed it took me another month of this to finally see a doctor and get an injection to relax it. Since then I have made it my policy to only fly in planes big enough for me to run away so I never again will provide my doctor with a cheap laugh at my expense .
That's the best one yet MING!!
WOW! All those names and titles. I'm impressed! All my dogs (10 of the beasts) have pet names, but with so many of them running around doing what they probably shouldn't be doing, they are usually called by their religious names. (Oh my god, Holy cow, J..... C.. bl.... H...l) On a slow night we play the game " Guess who did what and where and who's turn is it to clean it!"
Any of the dogs named "Frozen butt cheek"???

Funny story. Although instead of during descent, I would have thought it would happen during asscent.
The amusing part is that just as you get off the plane I didn't realise there was a bus waiting for everyone to take them to the main terminal and stupid here waited till last thinking no one would notice me struggling only to find the whole plane load was watching. Just inside, BEFORE customs, are public toilets. YEAH! I'm going to go to the loo before I go through customs. That alone would warant a strip search in itself...
:D Marianne, you're very brave! great photos! :D Not being as brave, I just drove 100 miles in each direction to another airport so I could avoid flying to Vancouver in a small plane, a little bigger than the one you rode in! 8O The good part is that Willoughby went to his favourtite kennel. 8)
one word wow
