Playdate in NC???

This is all thinking ahead BUT, is anybody interested
in coming to Wilmington, NC for a playdate!?
I know we are way out of the way of anything but,
a nice place to visit!
We have a friend with a training facilty that has offered
a large area for play dates and an agilty area if interest!
This is all of course pending interest...
Dates???
There are so many sheepie things I have no idea when to
plan it.
It would be in the fall
(not to coincide with Sheepiefest Chicago or Tarheel Oes Rescue Picnic)
I plan to attend both!
Crossing paws for Chicago!
(that I can go)
Any thoughts???
Any takers??
Respond to this topic here on forum.oes.org
I'm from the Myrtle Beach area, and would love to attend a play date with my 2 sheepdogs.

Name the time and place and we'll be there.
If we plan it right, we can come, too, Kathy. Fall would be better. Maybe early to mid October?
I know of another sheepdog family in my area that would love to come also.
We'll be spending more time at Myrtle Beach now so we may be able to attend. So far we know we'll be there two weeks this month and two weeks in June, August and October.

Hope we can all get together! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Yeah!
I didn''t see that anybody had posted!

I know of others in this area that are wanting to
come too!
I will talk to the lady at the training facility and see how
fall looks!

Hannah...there is a sheepie in Myrtle Beach now visiting
with his family from NY.
We have talked about getting together are there any
dog parks in MB area??
You are welcome to come too if we get together!

I am excited! :yay:
Rufus would love to come and play...so we are interested!!
Cool 8)
We placed a foster dog in Simpsonville, SC!!
She has three OES there.

I can't wait to meet everybody!

If anybody is interested in spending the night
I can check into pet friendly hotels!
WOO HOO!
There is the Bark Park on the old air force base.

It has a large lake in the center. I don't go there unless its a pet walk or special occasion. My girls would be in the water, and it's hard enough to keep them clean.

You might look up A Dogs Way Inn. It's in the Murrells Inlet area. I know it has a large play area, with agility, and does alot of boarding. I just don't know if they allow dogs to just come and play for the day.
My Hannah would love to come too. Keep us posted.
Is the Bark Park fenced?
I have to have a fence for the deaf baby!
Yes, it's fenced. It has lots of trees for plenty of shade also.
We'd love to come, too! Let us know when you settle on a date!!
I have a new puppy and I would love to get to know some OES owners and I'm sure that Zeta wouldn't mind meeting a dog her own size! She's deaf as well so a fence is a MUST! I'm in Sumter, SC between Myrtle Beach and Columbia, SC.

SamSun and myself would love to come!!! Sounds like a great idea.

we might be able to come up; how far is it from Charlotte?
Wilmington is still about another 3 hours from Charlotte, Alison. Maybe 2 1/2 if you drive like I do.
that may make it too far for a day trip, I fear. :(

Ok....I am trying to plan a fall schedule for things...
October is getting kinda full....Sheepiefest and we have a
rescue meet and greet in Raleigh.
(either 2nd or 4th weekend)

Anybody have any dates that are good/not good???
Maybe November???
PM me with dates please!
We're going back to MB the last two weeks of August and again on October 17th thru October 31st. :go:
I want to try and do it when they have Lure Coursing...
It is a fundraiser for Greyhound Rescue!
That would be neat if we could get a bunch of sheepies there too!

We're just back from the Outer Banks, won't promise but depending on the dates....I'd love a trip to Wilmington.
:cheer:
It is going to have to be November...we have too much planned for October...
First weekend of November??
I would love to plan it around Lure Coursing too in case anybody is spending the weekend.
I am sure I could talk Ray into setting up the course for fun!
(we may have to bribe him with some donations for Greyhound Rescue)
It is so much fun!!!!!!
Downtown Wilmington is so doggy friendly...
I am sure we can get lots of things together if inetersted!
Please let me know so, we can get some things together!
All in all a fun sheepie weekend could happen!
If Nita, Nelson and Darrow could stay a few days longer I promise
Finn won't pee on the restaraunt sign again
OK....we finally set a date!!!
Saturday November 14th is our playdate!
This is where it will be and times will be posted soon.
http://www.einsteinsk9.com/index.php

If anybody plans on staying into the evening we can
head downtown to some doggie friendly restaraunts and/or
pubs.
Anybody planning on coming??
We have a few coming so far but, nothing HUGE!
Come on, it's a big play area....
We are going to try but can't commit right now. Do you have a time??

Thanks!
I was thinking around 11 or so....
Whatever works for people and pups!
That's a good time! We're just north of Pinehurst so could drive there and back that day!! Winnie's never met another OES (after leaving her litter mates) so could be interesting :D
I wish!!!! :(
Can't wait to meet Winnie and you!

Dawn it is only 18 hours or so from you!
Ok, it is only about a month away....mark your calanders!
(which on that note don't forget to order next years from Wendy 8) )

We have a few people coming but, we have a nice big yard
for plenty of fur balls!!!
Come on down!
(up or over)
Info at

My girls Hannah, and Kelsey would love to come and play.

We'll be there!!
Carlos and I plan to be there with our two little children and our two furkids, Mini Moose and Ralph. It will be interesting to see how Ralph does in a group! We already know that Mini Moose had a great time with Nelson, Georgie and Baby Finn in June.
Marty left a message at the club to make sure the yard is
still reserved!
I will post as soon as we hear back! :cheer:
:excited:
We are set on November 14th at Einsteins K9 Academy in
Wilmington, NC for a play date!!!
If you are around us come on out and play!!
:yay:
We're planning on it! :D :D :D
YIPPPPEEEE!
We are planning 11-3 so there is a large time frame to whatever works for
folks!
BTW...love your avatar!
Yeh - those little bows lasted about a half hour, so snapped a pic when I could. Winnie actually HATES the camera, so most often pics of her are a blur of snarling, barking dog...... 8O or her butt.....

It'll be great. How many sheepies are coming??????
Glad you are planning to come....I honeslty have no idea who is coming.
I am leaving it open to if you want to!! :P
I am a spur of the moment gal so, I assume everybody else is
We may have three, we my have 30...we shall see!!!

I hope you can make it though!!!
Looks like we're going to have good weather Saturday...Sunny and 68!!! Can't wait to see all the fuzzy babies.
:cheer: :cheer:

Anybody else palnning on coming????
If you have any questions you can email me
or give a buzz....
My contact info is on the web site
www.coesr.org
Can't wait!!!
I'm bringing my 2 girls, Hannah and Kelsey. You have any idea how many might be coming?
I can't believe this post actually started in Feb!!
Shows what a true procrastinator can do...

Anyway, I haven't heard from many people so,
it may be a small group.
Maybe just about 10 but,
it will still be fun!!!!!
Sounds like fun anyway. Can't wait to meet everyone.
It will be...hopefully Prancer will come too...
Haven't heard back from them since I reminded them
just today!
Is it possible the place we are meeting is going to close (cancel) on saturday because it will be to wet?

Looks like the storm is going to circle back around and bring more rain.
Anyone know if we are still having a play date???
Don't know. I'll PM Donner's Mom and see. Looked like the play yard at least had grass! Maybe that will help drain the water. It stopped raining so hard here in Central NC - finally.....
So far it is still on.....
I can call Patrice at the yard tomorrow and
see if it is drying up at all...
She is not going to be there Saturday so as long as it
is safe we are ON!!!!! :P
Thanks, just let us know something tomorrow.

We've had a drizzle all day here in myrtle beach. Way to much rain in two days time.
We had a blast!!!
Thank you guys for coming!!
It was great!! Thank you for making arrangements - and persevering! Will post some pics before long.
Thanks all I did was reserve the yard
We absolutely adored Winnie and her little pink toes!!!
We also had a great time, and look forward to meeting again.

Winnie was a Hoot!! She's the life of the party, and she'll not let you forget it.

Everyone got along great, and my dogs crashed out when we got home.
Yes, even Hannah.

Your girls were wonderful!!

I bet Hannah had dreams of Magnolia pods!! :aww:
Posted some pics in photo gallery in album under "other gatherings." Should be posted once admin approval given.

Winnie is STILL tired! Thanks everyone!!! :P
Kathy and Marty - we had such a great time yesterday. So sorry we missed some of the earlier visitors. Maybe next time we'll get to see everyone. Our fuzzmuts had a great time. It was fun watching Georgie "give" Mini Moose what he usually "gives" Ralph! It was also great to see our old boy, Ralph, actually get out and romp and play. He was very tired but you can see an extra spring in his step today! Maybe frequent playdates will help keep him young.

Lisa and Ron - it was nice meeting you and your two girls. They are beautiful and Luke had a great time playing catch with Hannah.

Thanks again and we can't wait to see the pictures.
Luke was great with Hannah. Maybe we could borrow him from time to time. I think thats the only way to tire her out.

I'm sorry we didn't get to stay longer and visit, and would love to meet again sometime.

If you ever travel to myrtle beach and bring the dogs, give us a call and we'll meet up.
This is posted for the UK users mainly.................have seen pics of Uk sheepie days on this site, but how do I find out when and where they are, please?

Keep watching the "Play Dates" section of the forum. Kim (Old English) and others always post when they're planning a get-together.
Just a quick thank you from me and Frankie! It was his second playdate of the day and he was thrilled and exhausted later on! We had sch a wonderful time and it was so exciting for me to see all the oes in one place! Looking forward to another and hopefully we'll get to stay longer too. Take care all and once again it was true pleasure...David and Frankie :D
Thanks for coming David and Frankie!!!

We are up for a play date pretty much anytime!!!
Especially with that cutie pie :aww:
I think Frankie and Georgie are a couple! :P
