Pop Quiz #2

OK, observe the dog below.

Image

1) which direction is she (probably) going after that jump? Left or right?

2) what is it about her jumping style at that moment that suggests she's probably not going full blast ahead?

(Hopefully this is the information her handler INTENDED to convey to her. You never know, but you can always hope     )

I'm thinking she didn't clear the jump, strange angle. Hope she did, she's enjoying herself! Did she turn right, tho the course was left??

She cleared the jump. And it may be the pic that is deceptive, but she took it straight on.

She's doing what I (presumably) asked her to do. I can't remember which way the course went from there (or even which course it is), but I can tell from looking at the picture which way she'll most likely turn. (or fall flat on her face if her handler lied to her and insists on going the other way - actually, more likely it could have caused a spin). We can't tell any of that from the pic though.

looks to me like she is changing leads and she is sitting over her rear - or does she collect that much? and going to go right.
still confused :? :?
This is both LeAnne and I on this one (I'm at her place).

LeAnne says: she is going right. I don't know why I know, it's the way her body looks.

Dawn: she is going right. Horse experience helps, she is in the right lead.

She is slowing as well, her body is pulling back, slowing down. Probably a pretty quick turn upon landing. I assume :D you gave her the command for the next obstacle as she was taking off, so she already was making adjustments in the air.
She is going right from the looks of the body to me, and definitely slowing to make adjustment upon landing. No experience just a guess...
Kerry, Dawn, LeAnne, Shon: all correct!!!

Dawn, not surprised. Knew a fellow horse person would know leads

Yes on collection too. A drastic one, Kerry, which is why the funny style, exactly for the reasons Dawn described.

Shon - got an agility classes near you? Skip getting Obe a buddy and get him a class instead. I don't know about his potential one way or another, but yours is solid!

Nice work!

OES Mommy - sorry about the confusion. It was mostly to test the agility folks, but Susan/Sheepieboss was on the right track too. Impressive!

I would have guessed right too. But I am glad Dawn explained the body language for the sharp turn.

Keep these quizzes coming Kristine.... I might pick something up here since I don't have a clue out on the field.
