Lion cut?

Jack does not like to have his back legs groomed. I'm getting the urge to give him to Portuguese water dog lion clip. Do you think threats of a cold butt will convince him to relax? I might start a new "look" for the breed.

Sort of a punative grooming experiement? 8O Or are you just feeling creative?

After I finished Mad I threatened to shave her and run her with a mohawk stripe from head to stern at the next agility trial which coincided with Halloween, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.  8)

Somehow I don't think his tush being cold is going to inspire rear leg grooming cooperation, though it will make your life easier for some time as there won't BE anything to groom,

If you decide to only shave half of him please share photos and let us know if you have the guts to take him out in public that way

You will get attention that's for sure...if you take him out in public that is.
A few years ago, the groomer cut Violet into a Poodle Cut. I think Violet had an identity crisis for a while. :D
LOL... I'm seriously thinking of growing out dancer's coat just so that I can do a poodle cut on her for fun.

I'd love to have a poodle, but that would be insane so I'll work with what I have. LOL
I LOVE standard poodles in show coat... maybe if I practice on Dancer I can get one someday LOL

Was it intentional? 8O

I had my first OES professionally groomed. I hated picking her up because I never knew what other breed she'd be masquerading as. Poodle and schnauzer were the two most popular varieties. Some times a little of both :P Some times when I saw her I'd ask if she'd misbehaved and this was her punishment? 8O No, no, they assured me. Okey-dokey, so who did I offend?

I so do not miss those days!

Yes, punative  Plus he eats his coat, especially over his upper femur. I figure cutting a path to his butt.

So hilarious. I see the Port. Water dog every year on tv and can't help but laugh. I don't know why!
I'd like to try a Clydesdale style cut on Henry next summer  if I like it I might keep it otherwise he'll just be clipped nekid. :D
Our old dog used to get fed up of being cut, so we used to do it over a few days. She wasnt at all bothered!

Actually, it was a buzz to get rid of old puppy coat. And, it was HORRIBLY embarrasing to take him out in public. It was right before Halloween - do you think this is an improvement??

Actually..........it's rather cute, in a perverted way. Add the plastic coat and eye glasses and of course he was sercure.
very cute :aww:
Gus came home from his first (and to date, last) trip to the groomers looking like a bobble-head sheepdog. His whole body was clipped down to maybe an inch and a half and his head was still as hairy as could be. I thought he might tip over because his head had so much more hair than the rest of him! I think he knew he looked pretty silly to as he moped around for a few days. Ultimately I hacked at his head with some scissors until he looked more "balanced" but it was still a pretty sad day in Gus's life :) He kinda had the clydesdale feet going on too. Yikes!
Duchess has what is called "omg what did she do to me" haircut, my first try and she was so matted in spots and I really didn't know (and still don't ) what I was doing , used a no 10 . Now I think I need to find a groomer to help even her up. Oh and she won't let me do her face

By the way Willowsprite I kept checking to see your video on shaving but it wasn' t there

When I gave Bally his haircut I left his back half til last.... by the time I got there I was pretty tired so he had a pair of great big poofy clown pants for a while there
Y'all are so funny. Those poor sheepies suffering from bad haircuts. We've had our fair share here, too, so I can't say
anything.

Like Kristine, I've picked them up from various groomers wondering what on earth they were thinking - looking like a cross between a poodle and a schnauzer.

I finally learned my lesson and do my own grooming. If they look bad, I can' blame anyone but me.
