Good news for Sweetpea!

We took Sweetpea back to the vets yesterday to have her dressings changed and the vet had the results back from the lab - The lump was just a benign tumour - Phew!! :D :D

We were so relieved after what poor Daisy had to go through when she had cancer that we just didn't want to even think about it......

She has a nice clean pink bandage on now and we have to go back on Saturday to have it changed again. The hardest thing is keeping it dry in this horrible weather. I have to put a plastic bag over the foot, secured with a piece of elastic every time she wants to go out! I'm going to get some plastic tablecloth material this afternoon when I go shopping to make some kind of cover that I can get on and off it easily unless anyone has a better suggestion??

Thanks for all the good wishes and crossed fingers and paws - it must have worked!

And what a relief for Mum! :phew: :ghug:
phew......good news. I would just keep using freezer bags and elastic bands for her little paw!
I was wondering if cling film would work on a paw ....it worked keeping a wound dry on my sons leg while he took a shower ! :-)

Julie .

The bag works - another option is a dog boot.

I have these - you could make a similar one too if you sew:

I was going to suggest the same thing that Julie did!

In athletics (human) I would use cling and wrap it around around the affected area. Like a broken whatever, a burn, new stitches, lots of stuff that couldn't get wet. I used it on myself when I couldn't get my incisions wet from my knee surgery, but I HAD to take a shower.

When Maggie had a boxing glove on her front paw and I didn't have traditional cling, I used press-n-seal (how ever it is spelled). What was awesome, was that it stuck to itself and I could really get it all around her paw. I did still put a band around the top, but the stuff is pretty durable and it was easier then cling!
