I make a cake that basically sounds like the dump cake, but I gotta tell ya... a cake in a crockpot doesn't sound so pretty.

I've never tried rice pudding or rice cereal, but they're both my dad's favorite.
Thanks SheepieBoss. I think the Triple Chocolate Mess is the one I've heard about! :)

Jo-- anything with Chocolate sounds pretty...
Jo, I make rice pudding about once a week or so. I will either use left over rice or make it from instant rice. I do it on the stove top and the rice package has directions. I will add rasins and dried cranberries to it and will use pumpkin pie spice or apple pie spice. The reason I make it is that my mom is home and not only does she love it, it really makes a nice warm breakfast. Scoop a serving into a bowl, add some milk and put in the micro for a couple of minutes, take out and stir and then warm it a little more, if you didn't put a lot of sugar in it when you made it, a little drizzile of brown sugar on top of warm pudding is really nice. My mom also likes her sweets.
Yes, those dump cakes aren't that pretty coming out which is why you cover them up with whipped cream or ice cream

No way I could wait that long for rice pudding either. I prefer saucepan over oven or crock pot.

I haven't tried flan in crock pot. Imagine the number of eggs  Since we don't raise chickens any longer, no extra dozens about.
