PETA to openly target Westminster=20

Here is goes again, please forward widely especially to anyone you=20
know who many attend the show!=20

This is what they are sending out by e-mail=20

Join PETA for a Demonstration Against the Westminster Dog Show on=20
Monday .=20

PETA TV:Wrong Meeting?=20

Join PETA for a demonstration to speak out against the Westminster=20
Dog Show and its contribution to the companion animal overpopulation=20
crisis. The American Kennel Club (AKC) is devoted to keeping=20
bloodlines "pure," labeling mixed breeds as inferior, and creating a=20
dominant "master race" that meets their prejudiced ideas=20
of "perfection."=20
Please join us to let the public know that the AKC is the KKK of=20
dogs. A PETA campaigner clad in a "KKK" costume will set up a faux=20
registration table to remind both breeders and attendees that every=20
time an animal is bred and born, a shelter animal loses his or her=20
chance at finding a loving home.=20

Posters and leaflets will be provided, so just bring yourself and=20
anyone you can recruit to join you. Please contact Virginia Fort at=20
757-284-7152 or VirginiaF@peta.org with any questions or to RSVP.=20

When: Monday , February 9, 12 noon=E2=80=931 p.m.=20
Where: Outside the main entrance of Madison Square Garden, west side=20
of Seventh Avenue at 32nd Street=20

Please visit PETA's animal birth control (ABC) Web site for more=20
information about our ABC campaign, and e-mail=20
AnimalBirthControl@peta.org if you'd like to get involved!=20

Thank you for everything that you do to help animals!=20

Thanks for the update, Ali. I've heard rumblings too.

Kerry has mentioned that in the past such calls to action have been less than convincing in New York in February. Perhaps because it's too cold for them to run around naked ?

It's always good to be prepared though.

you know part of it is too they apparently are looking for tv coverage (what a shock - I know) Most people go into MSG through the inside and main east entrance I would bet (off the trains and 7th Ave) but thanks for the heads up
There is rumor they will be here the following weekend for Denver's 4 day shows as well.

H$U$ is hitting us bad this week with that bill they have entered in almost every state. Next Wednesday we are asking all dog owners in Colorado to show up to the Capital building. Now Honestly, I don't have a problem with limiting the # of breeding dogs to less than 25......... however the rule of thought is that is an easy number to adjust once they get that number in. It will also allow for the A.C. officers to come into your house at anytime to inspect... We have an A.C. officer that is a little "gung ho". I don't think he really likes dogs to be honest. He and my next door neighbor have a constant hate relationship over their dog.

I also am seriously considering going back to having a post office box for all my dog related business/info and only giving out the cell number. The show catalogs will list the information out this way, and that gives out any info to the AC officers. All they have to do is pick up a catalog and see where and an approximate number of dogs you have. I've already taken down my website as they are tracking people that way as well. Now I don't have over the limit at this time for the city, (but am over for my HOA). I try hard to be a good 'neigbor' and don't let them stay out barking.. but then i don't leave them out anyway because of the coyotes here. Everyone can see in everyone elses backyards as this is a new subdivision and trees and bushes havent grown high and thick enough yet. Heck I probably won't even be alive when all my landscaping is in enough to hide my guys in the yard!!

Hmmm what?

Was that there a question there? A comment perhaps? Thought maybe there was more to the post and you got cut off somehow.

LOL just my sarcastic response to PETA. I really think those people need to place their efforts into something that is needed.

EXACTLY!!!! Why don't they get their lazy behinds out to the puppymills and protest???

I'm sure it's all about the best location for press exposure and not the best interest of animals.
