Charlie got his very own blow dryer last night! WHAT A DIFFERENCE POWER MAKES!!!!!!!!! We've always loved how "poofy" he is when he comes home from the groomer and now we can do it at home!!!! The incredible power is going to take some getting used to though...figuring out how to do his head without blowing it off!! 8O He was pretty good though and put up with us "practicing."

that is great! Can you give us a name of it????
It's amazing the difference a good dryer makes. It's like night and day! I went from a small Metro Air Force travel dryer to the Double K Challengair Max (the two speed one). It's so powerful, it dims the lights in the house and knocks everything off the walls. Now that's a dryer!
Here's a link to the Pet Edge catalog for it. I got mine through the groomer for a bit less. I'll have to post pictures of my ding-bat son blowing it into his mouth and making his cheeks puff out. It was hilarious!! Dangerous...but HILARIOUS!!

I can't imagine anything more powerful! I kept thinking it was going to blow Charlie right off the table!!

It really does make a huge difference when you get a "real" dryer... I have the K9 III and absolutely love it.

Open the back door while you are drying and you can get house work done at the same tome - talk about multi tasking :D :D

I actually did use it to blow all toys out from under the couch!

ah someone I can relate to 8)
We were surprised at how far some of the papers we had laying on a desk near the table blew across the room! I like the idea of getting toys out from under the couch! How do they get there??
Congrats on the new dryer! You are going to LOVE it!!!
LOL - I did a similar thing. I set it up in the livingroom. Got a little wild and it ended up blowing pictures and stuff out of the entertainment center! The TV was the only thing that didn't move....
How did they get there?
Umm,I think I swept them under when I was in a hurry to wash the floor!
I have to crawl around and ferret Tiggy toys out from under the couch every day. She plays a pouncing game with them and they shoot out from under her feet and go under the couch so that she cant reach them any more. I have sucked a lot of them out with the vac but the rope toys get sucked up into the vac. Then I have to scrounge them out of the dirty bag and dust them of. Yuck.
I can stand next to the grooming table and dry the dogs with my Simpson stand dryer and get my hair dry too :P

I love the hurricane of warm air it creates amazing all the fluff that gets blown around and when you move the couch amazing the dust bunnies that accumulate underneath in the family room when I decide to vacuum under there

Be lost without a good dryer, best investment I made many moons ago
Are dog blow dryers quiet?

Or is it going to take some warming up to?

I have tried to blow dry Bert with the vacuum(switched around to blower form) but I think the noise troubles him.

I wouldn't say they are quiet. But, LeAnne's has a long enough hose that the motor is far enough from the dog that it doesn't bother them.

Mine is a stand dryer, and it is loud, but not a bad sound. The pitch isn't too annoying like some can be. (mine is older than dirt too!)
Mine is VERY loud and powerful (at least compared to the blow dryers we use on our hair  )!! Charlie's still getting used to it even though he has been around the one at the groomer's a few times. He still shakes pretty hard at first. We were advised, by the groomer, to make sure to put cotton balls in his ears to help muffle the sound. It seems to help a bit. Hopefully, he'll just get used to it over time. (We've only used it twice.)

Sometimes it's not just the noise but the fact that they are feeling this air blowing against them from only 1 direction. Maybe if you have a box fan you could aim at your dog from an opposite direction it would help. Once they get used the feel of the forced air they don't seem to mind it at all. I've even had dogs that fell asleep under the dryers.
