puppy too young to take walkies, barking!

Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction?Buffy is getting her immunizations this week and the vet said keep her in the house 2 more weeks for them to "take" then she can be taken for walks on a leash.
Since we got her,she has been a fairly quiet type of dog except she has started barking really loudly. At first it was 5am,let me out of the cage stuff(she is inside the house in a dog cage at night),so I take her outside then back in,no play, maybe a treat, then she is okay until 6 or 6.30am.Then I let her out whether she is barking or not.And feed her breakfast.
She plays with our other small dog (poodley cross/cross/cross)but while they play,Buffy barks really loudly at her.
So I split them up and only put them in the same area inside or out,for a play now and then.
Even when Buffy is alone or in a room with a human, she will suddenly start barking,at nothing,I know she is telling us something but what?I play ball,or run and have her chase me(is that a good idea or not?) around the yard to exercise her but when we go in,she will still bark.
I really want to know how to stop this. Our old sheepdog just doesnt bother barking and never has.The poodle type dog used to bark at anything but has calmed down as she has gotten older(2).She will bark at Buffy, either when playing(which seems to involve mouthing each other a lot, even biting)or if she is outside and Buffy in,or visaversa.
How do I encourage Buffy not to bark? Is there a way?I dont want her to annoy the neighbors mainly.I am hoping once she can be taken for walks it will lessen.

i have a 15wk old barker i never had one either dreamer barks at everything so would love to know what to do too
we distracted henry with a toy when he would bark :D he mainly wanted 2 things when he would bark 1) was to play 2) he wanted the potty ......they do grow out of it so you just need to be patient.

none of our other dogs were ever barkers.....
When Bert was a little puppy he barked at every new noise outside. I just ignored it and he got use to the noises.

Just recently he started to bark inside. He is 7months, now we use a water bottle with pennies in it and shake it. He hates it and stops barking.

Good luck.
I would question the vet. recently the AVM said dogs have sufficient imunization from the mother to take them out for classes and socialization at 8 weeks. I took my dogs out from the airport on.

Have you had her hearing tested?
How old is she again?
I can't help much with the barking, Jenny is so contented outside, doesn't bark at anything. Other dogs can walk up and down, people, cars, etc. and she doesn't bark. The noise of cars scares her some, but she doesn't bark at them. However, she does bark when she wants treats or water. She sits in front of the sink -- any sink will do, looks at the faucet and barks.
12 weeks and hearing test was perfect as it can be assessed at this age.
Several things suggested were helpful,I dug out the bottle of coins and shook it when she was barking at nothing this morning and she shut up immediately, couldnt work out what the heck that was or where it came from.
Secondly,I watched her in the tv room and she does definately bark before peeing. This is actually quite helpful. Now as soon as she barks, she gets whisked outside onto the lawn.
Last night she was quite restless in her cage and barked on and off, just enough so I would think "better go see...no wait, she has stopped" then 10 minutes later, same. So I took her outside and she did the longest pee on record!Obviously didnt want to pee in her cage.Good doggie!
(Stupid owner may be the problem here folks!)
At 12 weeks you should be safe to take her out for short walks. She's had all but the last set of puppy shots by now and should be cool. Stick to the sidewalk and keep her out of any standing water or poo. By 12 weeks, our last puppy needed to get out or what he was gonna suffer inside was worse than what he'd get outside, lol.
Well I took Buffy for her final jab (until she is a year old anyway)but the vet insists she cannot be taken out of the yard to walk until 2 more weeks so I put her in my bike basket and took her for a ride, she loved it.I shall do this each morning when she first wakes up and its cool before the heat hits at 6.30 or so.
She was so good at the vet, didnt make a sound, suffered all the indignities of a thorough check up,didnt complain. What a star.
She was the runt of the litter, weighed 2.5 kgs at 6 weeks and 6.6 kgs at 10 weeks.Forget what she weighed today, its in her book. But she still fits in a bike basket, this week anyway!
Please get someone to take some photos of you with Buffy in the bike basket and post them here for us. They would be gorgeous :hearts:
Hello! Yes, yes please do take some pictures of her in your bike basket! How adorablee is that?! I'm imagining my 75lb Tucker in the same basket which makes for a funny image :P

As for the barking. Tucker barks at things that aren't in their normal place. For example we had a baby gate up for a foster puppy litter that we had from the SPCA. When the puppies left we put the gate in between Tucker's crate and a little table in the office. Every day or so Tucker will go in there and just bark at the gate. I used to go and touch the gate, show him it was nothing to be alarmed at, but that did nothing. Now he barks at it less and less. Odd, eh? He also used to bark at this OES puppet that I have in my office. I'm not sure if he thought it was a real animal or what, but even after I took it down and showed it to him he still barked at it! Now he's too busy barking at the baby gate to notice the puppet!
ohhh opps. I've never heard of this before. I took mine out for walks at 7 weeks. She's now 12 weeks and LOVES her walks thru the neighborhood. She's in puppy school and in contact with lots of other puppy's.

I had no idea they wearn't ready for contact with the outside world. 8O
