Adventures in the COLD

8O I've had an interesting few weeks!

I was in a collision with a car that turned out of a left hand lane across the traffic aiming for the entrance to a mall, hitting my car and bouncing off a pickup truck on the other side. Luckily, I jammed on the brakes in time, otherwise would have been seriously injured.

I'd been shopping on the way home as my son was visitng the next day, Saturday. After being checked over by the Ambulance and giving my report to the police I went home. The car is drivable but estimates for repairs are between $2 and $3000.

Next day, picked up my son from the airport and he was very helpful, inspecting the damage and asking what I needed doing around the house. We had a great steak dinner that evening at a local resteraunt. Have't been out at night for months! 8)

Next morning, I planned to make eggs Benedict, but as I started the Hollandaise in the microwave, the microwave blew up! Needless to say, breakfast wasn't a success. Sigh!

We spent the day looking for curtain rods and a new microwave. We found one but on getting it home, it had a faulty frame. Chris was leaving the next day, so we bought another one, returned the first microwave and then on the way to the airport went to the dump! Luckily, it's a nice drive!

Combine that exictement with the fact that I've had to lay off two staff at work (long story) and there is a lot of acting out despite all attempts to provide support, references etc, etc.

I did visit Merlin last weekend another thread will appear later).

Now I have flu and feel wretched. :( However, everywhere I go, a little trio of anxious people follow me every where. Edwina purrs, which she says is veyr good for flu, while the boys make sure they are only inches away! 8)

Hi Lynda,

I've been wondering how you've been doing! Thankfully you're okay after the accident and what a lot of excitement you experienced over such a short time. Glad you had your son and furbuddies to make you feel better.

This wretched snow is making me long for spring. We'll talk gardening soon!

I couldn't walk Willoughby: no energy but he's being a perfect angel. 8) the gang are keeping me company while I nap. No work for me tomorrow! :yay: I'll sleep in and go to a walk-in clinic. Keeping fingers crossed that this is as bad as it gets. so nice of you to listen to all this!
