when do they stop growing?

billy was a rescue dog. when we got him we were told he was about 1 - 1 1/2.
we have had him a year now. he was 24kg when we had him now he is 35kg certinally not overweight, still could put on a few kg.
the harness that the rspca gave us with him wont fit him by about 5 inches now, and i got him a collar just before christmas and his just gone up a notch on it.
i know his getting more hair but i do rake out his undercoat so its not the hair.
just wondering if he may of been alot younger then they said when we had him, his grown in height too.
he will still be my big baby forever though!

By about 18 months he should be almost fully grown. His chest may drop a bit more and he could gain a few more pounds but he shouldn't get any taller at that point. Sounds like he was younger if he's already grown that much since you've had him.
or he could have been underweight and just filling out. MY humane society OES was about three when we got him - his chest was dropped etc., but he did get larger in stature due to weight gain - not that he ever got heavy. THe hair add dimension, even without the undercoat. Morgan's collar size can change up to three notches between haircuts and we keep his undercoat mostly stripped.
what is the average weight of a 2 year old male?
Weight varies a lot, depends on the boning, muscles substance of them etc.

Best way to judge a healthy weight is run your hands over the dog, feel the withers, run your hand along the backbone to the hips, feel either side of the rib cage.

Can't feel at all, too fat
Just feel the bones & they have a slight covering over them, correct weight
sticking out, underweight.

Always a good guide rather the worrying about how much they weigh as there all different depending on size, substance etc.
i am quite happy with his weight now (35kg), when we first got him he was really underweight, you can still feel bones, but his not skinny, would go a miss to a few more pounds added on but his not a big eater and very active, but were getting there
I've had my OES since he was 7 weeks old. At around 2 years old he started getting taller and he grew about 3 or 4 inches. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. Jake is a therapy dog and even his patients noticed it. His back used to be level with the arm rest of the chairs and now he is several inches above it!!!
Archie hasn't gotten higher lately, but he has definitely gotten longer!

I had to protect the cats food, by building a guard for it, it was out of reach when Archie was at full stretch, it now appears he has adapted his growth pattern to reach the cat food when he is up on his two back legs!

I kid you not, no his tongue hasn't doubled in length
