Netflix. Anyone use it?

I'm considering joining Netflix. Anyone else a member? Opinions, good, bad?

I just put a movie in the post to go back. I love it. some months I watch a dozen movies - others I keep for a couple of months cause I am busy - my cost never changes. My daughter finally joined, now that you can watch on your tv or computer too even she thinks its great.
My daughter loves it!!!!!
We had it but quit. We're all about Blu Ray now and James likes to buy them. One cool thing, if you quit, they try to get you back with a reduced monthly rate. It was a couple of years ago but it was like $4 cheaper-- a pretty decent discount based on what it costs.
Paula, its great! We had it for years. We only gave it up when we got our HD tv and had to get digital cable service. We needed the netflix money to go towards that.

But for the 3 or so years we had it, we loved it! I'd sent back a couple movies that got lost in the mail (or the mailman's truck!) and they never charged me for them.

Go for it!
We have it too...but they may try to get you back with the reduced rate...but you end up paying more. We are members for the 2nd time and I pay around $18.00 for 3 movies at a time. They told use since we were returning members we don't get the discount...you are only new once.

I still like it as it is way cheaper then renting at the video store...and you keep a running list of what you want to see.

The reduced rate is the lure back rate. I would assume it's only good the first time you come back. Either way, even if you end up paying full-price later, you still got the discount in between that time.
when their rates wen tup I went to two movies at a time - the turn around is so quick I really am never without a movie when I want one- and if I am I can always watch one online.
If want you want to see is a multi-disc set, do you get all the discs at once, or one disc at a time?
I love it because I can get all sorts of old movies, Brit stuff, Anime, independent, etc that you could never find in the movie stores. We don't have a TV so I love that we only watch what we want to and don't waste our time just zoning out.

My sister said that it's about 5 dollars to rent a new movie now in the store. Sheesh. We average about 10 discs a month. That will probably slow down when it gets nicer out.
They are really hard to cancel. It took my daughter months for them to finally cancel her subscription

Icancelled twice and each time it wasa instantaneous. as slong as yu return the outstanding dvd's in time I never had a problem.
Multi disc sets come one disc at a time (television series, for example). I had Netflix for about a year and just cancelled because we got satelite television. We would mail back our movies on a Monday and get new ones on Wednesday. Cancelation was instant, no problems at all. In a years time I think I got one scratched/unplayable disc in the mail. And when this happened I reported it online and got a replacement disc the next day.
We love it. I think it's the greatest. It got me thru the deployment when Scott was in Iraq... late n ight movies, piled up in bed, kids sleeping (finally) in their own rooms... was great!!

I cancelled it once and had no problems at all. It was instantly taken care of. Another time one of my kids had lost a movie (I still think it is at the neighbor's house!) I just hopped online and sent them a message about it and it was taken care of very easily.

I like the service, myself.
i've used it for about 4 years now and love it.......... but as othrs have said, i sometimes watch many in a week, or two and then will go a while and not order anything. It's a great way to catch up on just released movies without having to pay to go to the movies..... we've learned how THEY add up when buying the popcorn drink and candy...... it's much cheaper.

hm i need to send movies back come to think of it......... THANKS!!
Melissa and I used to use Netflix....we now have multiple tivos and therefore end up recording so much tv that we don't have time for anything else. Also the Elgin library has a lot of the new movies and tv series now, so we stop by and get those and that way if we don't watch we didn't pay for it. Are you eligible for the elgin library? Does south elgin have a library?

When we had netflix it was good. Since we are in a metropolitan area we get our next disc quickly.
I do and have no complaints about it.
We have it, love it because there are no late fees. The only bummer is having to wait a day or two. In that case I use Redbox, which is the greatest thing EVER!! It is a movie vending machine that costs $1/night to rent new releases. They are springing up in a lot places around this area.
We've had it for several years. Like the others, some months you watch more movies, other months less movies. Still the best bargain around. We have the 3 at a time package.
My dad got it as a gift, the $14 or $15 version (2 at a time) and he loved it, but he did not renew at the end. He said he was having trouble finding any more good movies to rent.
