Won't Leave Home

i have a head scratcher...

Peeps is very protective and watchful of the children.

just like a real shepherd, she sits up on the top of the hill and watches their every move.

the odd thing is, she won't leave the property. if the kids go off, Peeps sits at the peak of the hill and watches for their return, but she will not follow them.

if the kids put her on a leash to take her for a walk, Peeps drags them home!

she will only leave the property if I go along.

what do you think - is she afraid of something?

I forgot to mention, when the kids go out to play, Peeps insists on being outside and will not come in until they do.

so it just seems odd that she won't go with them if they stray too far from the house.
If only all our dogs would do that LOL
replace your kids with some sheep, peeps will be in heaven
hmmm... suppose a sheep were to stray  they'd be lost forever.

is this not a normal behavior?

i thought maybe sheepies are just homebodies?

or she's chicken to leave without mommy

when we go hiking, Peeps gets double the exercise. because the kids run ahead, Peeps has to run up with the kids, then back to my husband and I, then back to the kids!

she's exhausted trying to keep tabs on all of us.
