snowed in

Kentucky is having a terrible time with ice, sleet, and snow storms - EVERYTHING is closed, schools, universities, businesses, etc. I went in yesterday even though the town was closed down, but today stayed home because our roads are treacherous. So what does everyone do when snowed in. The house pretty much stays picked up mostly because I do not like wasting a day cleaning. So, I brushed Patch for more than an hour and in a little while we will take on the roads and go up to the feed store for a bath. Our feed store is great, the bathing room has waist-high tubs with a ramp that Patch willingly walks up, shampoo and conditioner, towels, and grooming tables with dryers hanging from the ceiling - all for $9. We then buy treats from the bins. When we walk in they are happy to see the sheepdog, but if I go in alone to pick up some treats, they always ask where Patch is, kinda disappointed that she isn't with me. I haven't had a pizza in ages so may treat myself and pick one up - and treat Patch to a few crusts.

I hope everyone is enjoying their day snow or not.

How does it seem everyone got the day off but me? Usually when there's bad weather, I'm the one who gets to be home! It's been snowing for hours and still hasn't stopped but I'm stuck at work. :(

I want to go home and groom dogs!
I had to work today too. it would have been great to have stayed home and played in the snow with the dogs. when I do stay home we always spend a lot of time outside in the snow - they love it. I leave the grooming for night time when they dry off.
Snowed ALOT here too----..BUT...since I work about 3 blocks from work...I am here!!!
Sorry you are snowed in BUT I love your feed store. I wish I had that here. I hang over the tub till my back breaks
Have a good day!!!!!!!!
and ENJOY!!
The feed store sounds like a fun place to hang around. Is their feed mainly large animal or is it more like a pet store? Anyway, enjoy your day off and be careful driving. And have 2 pieces of pizza for me. Can we see pictures of Patch after her bath???
Snowed in here. Everything is closed down, including both of our companies. ( oh darn! ) He is cleaning out the driveway, and I am not. :)
The bad storm is just reaching here this afternoon... Schools closed down and sent all kids home at 12:30. I was already off so I can't count it as getting to stay home. I just get to spend the afternoon with my kids instead of lounging on the couch with Baloo.

Feed store was closed due to the weather - the only one open is downtown. We continued on our journey and picked up a pizza and now enjoying it with Patch here drooling waiting for a piece of crust. Feeders caters to horses all the way to angel fish. They also sell dog beds, toys, leashes, etc, offer obedience lessons and a vet visits once a week. They also have homeless cats and dogs needing a home. I love their bins of dog biscuits where you can scoop out what and how much you want.

It feels so weird to be home during hte day and doing NOTHING. But Kentucky is stranded in this beautiful snow. It looks like a war zone with all the trees down by heavy ice, but at the same time a beautiful ice forest.

I have a recent picture of Patch while on a nursing home visit riight after a bath - will attach it.
You people Up North lead such exciting lives with your snow...now I must roll over to get an "even" tan...I don't want to burn. 8)

Schools are still closed here today. The snow has stopped but I expect the road crews are having a hard time clearing the roads from yesterday. I had to back up to the plant (I work in the office) & make a running start to get up the hill to the main road to get home yesterday. The parking lot is paved. Just too much snow on top of ice. Took me 2 tries going as fast as I could, front wheel drive & with the Advance Trac on. Barely made it onto the main street amid the smell of burning rubber  . I decided I was staying in for the night once I got home! I am hoping things are better today!
