Training book for puppies
Just wondering what training book would you suggest for OES puppy. We are going to go to the formal training class....but just so I can read up and also to for resource. thanks |

| I recommend The Dog Listener: Learn How to Communicate with Your Dog for Willing Cooperation, by Jan Fennell - it's wonderful for puppies and dogs alike.
I get this as a gift for my family and friends when they get a new puppy. I don't know if breeders give you information about feeding, grooming, and puppy-stuff for OES when you get a puppy. I would think they should. Kristen |

| I got The Everything Dog Training and Tricks Book, by Gerilyn J. Bielakiewicz, Bethany Brown, Christel A. Shea - turning the most mischieveous canine into a well behaved dog who knows a few tricks. It is pretty good. I was looking for The Dog Listener: Learn How to Communicate with Your Dog for Willing Cooperation, by Jan Fennell but was unable to find it. I have ordered it.
So much of what I have read is just common sense stuff that I never thought about. Good luck! |
| My husband tried to surprise me the other day when he went to stock up on things for our furbabies. It is so funny to see us go in there. It is my hubby and I, our 2 kids, our 2 sheepies, and Kiara kitty in a pet carrier that you wear....LOL We go in gracefully though....LOL Wow, I am getting off topic....LOL
Anyway, hubby thought that Kristen recommended The Dog Whisperer: A Compassionate, Nonviolent Approach to Dog Training, by Paul Owens, Norma Eckroate and picked it up for me. I laughed and told him thank you, and let him know a few days later that it was actually The Dog Listener: Learn How to Communicate with Your Dog for Willing Cooperation, by Jan Fennell. The important thing is he tried. LOL In my opinion the book was great for the basics and for the first time puppy owner I give it 2 paws up.
