Oh that stinks. I HATE rain and when you mix it with cold weather....ugh.
Though we're not feeling it now, I'm sure we'll be cursed w/the worst summer ever. |
YO mrs J its not rain but snow !!!!!!!!!!!!! YUCK I would not mind rain, I don't have to shovel that.. |
Yeah that storm is moving its way here too... we already ahve the stations showing a weather storm warning for 4 pm this evening thru wednesday evening.
It's on it's way!!! |
It's even coming to us! There was a little snow this morning, then sleet and freezing rain (is there a difference?) on my drive into work (that was fun, saw a flipped car and everything), and now it's just rain. But it should be snowy again later....woohoo! So much fun! ![]() |
Eww. I'm in spencerport right now waiting for Tony's grooming to be finished. So far it's all blue skies today! I hope the weatherman is wrong! ![]() |

Yep there is a update now. Snow to start about midnight and not as much as they thought.YEHHHHHHHHHHHHH Drive time in the morning might be tricky though. |
Supposed to start here around 8PM. We are expecting 6"-10". Ontop of the packed down 4 inces we already have & the ice in the drive! Hopefully it will hold off until 8PM when I am on my way home from handling class with Olivia. |
It's here ![]() ![]() |
It started here too. It has not stopped for hours. I would guess at 5-6 inches now and the same due by tonight or more. Yes the joys of the northeast ![]() |
They just canceled my attention class for tonight. It's an hour away. It's bad all over here. |
We have the ice part of the storm now.
My daughter is 200 miles north of us, in college. They let out early on Monday afternoon - no classes tuesday or today. They've declared a state of emergency, though it isn't as bad as the one in December 2007. The downed powerlines trapped her car in the apt complex for 5 days. No power for 7 days. She had to walk a mile to the highway for a friend to pick her up and take her in. Her heat was out Sunday morning, but they got it fixed just in time. Our school district let early yesterday in anticipation of the ice hitting at 3 PM. I think that was a good decision - no need to have the high school kids driving in the ice. In the twenty years I've lived here, they have never done that. But it meant that we had to call the parents of 50,000 kids before we release them. And do it in 90 minutes. We overloaded the phone system. But it worked. And no school today. We have to make this one up on Good Friday. Part of the highway system around DFW is closed - 18 wheelers can't get traction even with the sand they put out. Te high bridges at the interchanges are too icy. Last night, people were just leaving their cars on one of the ramps in Fort Worth - no way to move them after hours in the same spot. You have to understand that this is the same part of the country that will stop classes and let the kids go outside and play in the snow when it occurs. Some of these kids are 7 or 8 years old before they see snow. |

Funny there Darcy. John is out right now, plowing 15 inches of snow from the driveway. Well- 13 inches. 2 inches is ice.... |

We've gotten 6 inches or so of snow today so far, still snowing like crazy, kids love it ![]() |
With all this snowy weather, the one thing I don't miss living down south is ICE....I remember having a fender bender with the pole....the pole won ![]() Luckily no major damage, but boy is that scary! I hope everyone snowbound stays safe. |
