| This topic is available here on forum.oes.org | My nephew Damon is a journalism major. Last night, he called me, out of the blue, to ask a favor...
It seems that in one of his classes, they are putting together a book of short stories, each of them submitting several-- then- the books will be sold, and proceeds are going to help children in need of classroom supplies etc.
Well, I am almost embarrased to say that Damon has asked me to "co-pen" a few stories.
I'm thrilled to be working on a project with him. He is 20, and doesn't really want to spend much time now with "us old folks". I have no idea why he asked me, except I have a gift to gab -- and I suppose he thinks I can put all that talkin' on paper.... | |
| Wow, that's exciting. It will be great fun, you're obviously are a great story teller and it will help out some kids too, another bonus.
Enjoy!! | Congrats, Lori! That's so exciting! You definitely have a gift for writing and spending some extra time with your nephew sounds great, too.
My son started out as a journalism major before he switched to Public Affairs (still in the communications school, only a different major). I was disappointed when he switched from journalism because that boy can sure write! He loves to write still, but he said he just didn't want to do it for a living. |

Damon is second guessing his major as well. Not that he doesn't want to write-- he just hopes there will be jobs when he needs one. Right now he is writing a sports column for a small newspaper here, but of course wants to hit the "big time" |
