Grooming Smocks

I know many people are partial to the black jackets.

I personally like the snap front nylon jacket for myself (the long one, not easy to find)

I was interested in knowing what styles/colors people do tend to like....Any suggestions?

Thank you much

I got mine at the Nationals -----It's black...long...snap up the front...and I just LOVE IT!!!!!!
Jeff Yutz (sp) has a cool one with an OES on the back. They photographed him for a lifestyles piece at Westminster last year.

I have to see if I can find out where he got that one....
Well that's why I was asking. I have only been painting OES for custom orders. I'd like to carry them at SheepieDreams....I just don't know what style/ color would be most popular....
okay that was clearer.

hmmm. I think that you would have a number of requests for the pinks, blues and lavenders (they seem to work with the OES colorings don't they?) and I would think gray would be very practical.

Personally I would like a coral or berry - but my color choices are usually "outside the box"
I've been looking for a longer one that snaps up the front (like the one Nita let me borrow). Can you guys post some links of places where you've gotten them?
I got mine from Stylist Wear http://www.stylistwear.com/. I believe Jeff Yutzy's was painted by Karen Fischbach. Karen also did the fabulous batik banners for the 2005 National Specialty that have decorated each Specialty since.
It might very well have been one of Karen's designs. She did beautiful work on them!!! Those long snap front jackets are not all that easy to find (unless I'm not looking in the right spot).

Thanks for the link, Nita

Oh what a grand idea! I agree with Kerry on the color schemes. I'd think pinks, blues and lavendars would work well. I would buy black if that's all that was available, but I prefer colors. If you paint some, Mich, let us know. I want one too. I would think the long with the front snaps would be very practical.
Over the past maybe year or so I've had 1 apron style with the two pockets, one t-shirt looking one with a zipper, and a few long snap fronts get shipped here to be painted. So as far as what styles people like, I guess to each is own. That's why I have been thinking on the idea for a while instead of just ordering some. I appreciate all of the feedback, so thank you!!

I reaaalllly realllly love the snap front one, myself but wanted to make sure other people like it as well and also to see exactly what people like.....

As for color, there are quite a few choices....and I do love color so it's gonna be a hard choice. I HAVE to have a purple... 8)

We have a couple of zip up ones, black, with pockets. They're about 3/4 length I guess. That length doesn't do much to keep hair off pant legs, but any longer I think would restrict movement too much.

Mine and LeAnne's (we share) is by Stylist Wear as well. I had to go into the tackbox and check it out!
It is long and snaps up the front with 6 snaps.
And, it's PURPLE!!!!
I got mine at a show in Syracuse. It's grey and snaps, long sleeves. I saw a purple one, short sleeves on line that I thought would be good for summer.
Mine is turquoise and long with the snaps but don't know the company name. I'll have to check the tag. I actually won it and it was also painted by Karen.
I really like the long length!
I'm a little out-of-the box with mine . . . I use an actual lab coat that buttons up the front. I love it!
I got mine at a show in Syracuse last year, its red, Rick got a blue one. It is longer and snaps up the front , I would love to have a sheepie on the back of it :D I really like Mandy's.
Dawn - do you have the Stylist Gown or Super Shirt? Both look like good choices. :?

I had an "ah-ha" moment when reading this tread. I always end up covered in hair when I brush out the wigglebums and usually strip off whatever I'm wearing in the laundry room as I come into the house. It would be GREAT to have a Grooming Jacket to keep that hair off me. Duh!! Just never occurred to me.
It looks like the length of the super shirt, but it doesn't have a collar. So, I'm not sure which one. I'm at Judi's now, and the tack box is at the show site. We can check tomorrow. :D
I finally painted a few smocks, even a realism which was really really cool. That was my first realism smock!!

I purchased a few colors, purple (that was a given..love that color), teal, black and white from stylist wear. And then other colors from the top performance line. I have short AND long jackets...snappy ones and zip ones!!! I'm excited to be carrying smocks now.....People have been asking me for sometime if I had them, even at the national specialties since 2005. I've only hand painted ones people sent to me.

Thank you all for your suggestions!!
