TWO new sheepies from the Dayton, OH area

Where do I begin? I posted a survey over on the other page and that will answer some questions. http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=55 ... &start=150 I'm all the way down at the bottom for now.

But to help fill in, I'll tell more of our story. Last August, we had to put down our 12 year old Cocker. When my wife and I got married, we decided to adopt a dog. We wanted either a cocker or an OES. A cocker was the first dog that became avaialble so that choice was made for us. In August, we decided that since we both came from 'dog families' and both were very used to the sound of dogs around that we'd look for another dog right away. it was also this time that we decided to look for an OES.

We found a rescue person to help locate a suitable candidate. Sadly, after a month or so, it turns out that the rescue person was a bit of a scheister and didn't really help us much. We found the same dog that this rescue person was telling me that was in Indiana right here in SW Ohio. When we went to look at this OES, we stopped to look at another that we found in at another shelter.

We actually put an application in for both dogs, not knowing what our chances were for either. Irony ensues here. My wife got a call at work about one at the same time I got a call at work about the other. Without knowing that the other was accepting the offer to adopt, we both said YES! And as we love a good challenge, we decided to take both and are SOOOOO glad we did.

We brought Bentley home in mid-October. He's a 5 year old male who spent most of those years outside with very little attention shown to him. So he REALLY like attention. He spent about 2 months in our home before Zoey arrived. Zoey was a4 month old pupy when we first saw her and is now 7 months and ALL puppy. She was a late arrival because the shelter we adopted her from had already picked her to got through their prison dog training program and that lasted 8 weeks.

They have both been home with s for a little over a month and it's still a hoot! There was an issue when Zoey first come in as Bentley didn't want to give up any of this new-found attention. After only ONE day at home with them, my wife had him convince it was all good. And so far, there have been very few instances when Bentley would snap at Zoey. And it's almost always a territorial think now.

I'm already there! Since I was a little kid I've always wanted a sheepie and when the chance came up, we jumped on it; TWICE!!!

Thanks for all the kind welcomes. Hopefully I'll be back on here regularly with great new pic, videos and stories.

Ron, the dogs are definitely the first on the projects list, but the others will garner some attention here and there. Thanks for noticing.
