Does your OES talk back to you?

Snowy is barking at me and trys to "talk" back to me when I tell her NO.
It is soooooooooooo funny I have a hard time hideing my laughfter from her.
Do yours talk back to you?
Just like a child!!
Hopefully when her new brother gets here next Saturday they can keep each other happy :)

Tiggy doesnt but my Dalmo is a crack up. He barks, he grumbles, he whines and he groans when I tell him NO. And especially at dinner time. I tell him to sit and wait for his dinner and he literally groans, it really sounds like "Awww, I'm starving!!!" Just like when I was a kid and my Mom told my brother and sister and I we couldnt have something and we'd all moan and groan about it.
Winston does. The best "talk back" ever was when we were at his vet a year ago. My husband, the vet and myself were all in the exam room trying to determine what we could do about Winston's leg pain. When the doctor stepped out for a moment, my husband preceded to lecture me on over exercising Winston. Winston looked at my husband and before he got a complete sentence out, Winston went "Ruh..Ruh...ruh!" Kind of like, " Dad, be quiet. Don't make mom feel bad." It was so funny - we both laughed.
Winston is your protector...Steph!!! What a sweety!!!!!

Heart doesn't bark...If she wants my attention, she does this, very soft, rolling RRRRRRhighpiched whine???... When I look at her she stops :!: :!: :!: If I turn to go back to what I was doing....of course....she does it again...this can go on...and ....on...and ...on...........................................
Chewie does - in the rally ring.
Simon the basset really talks back - a lot!
one of mine does. its one of a long list of behavior issues...
Mequpak groans a lot when you first take him out of the crate and you intially touch him.

If it counts at all, I have a cat that ALWAYS talks back. ANY TIME you say the word no whether it be lightly, screaming, etc ...she will talk back and depending on what it is and how bad she wants to do what you're telling her not to ...will determine how long she will continue to "talk back." Sometimes she can go on and on ...and even give you the glare. Funniest thing ever and many of our guests tell her "No" ...just to get a reaction from her.

My sil's shih tzu talks to you whenever you talk to her. She would just sound like a little gremlin or something and honestly talk to you as long as you're talking to her. I love that in a dog esp. when you're petting them.
Obe is guaranteed to get the last word in.
yes, panda sasses me all of the time.....she is so good at it that she taught her bff, jedi how to do it to his mommy too!
Violet is indeed a talker....when she is in the mood to chat, i like to get her going. She looks me right in the eyes and tells me "what to." My biggest talker is Asia (puppy Aussie) she chats and also rolls her rs. China does not chat to me, she will look me directly in the eyes if she wants me or hit my hand with her nose. I must add also, that Violet loves to use that high pitched sheepie tone.

Sound like she has you perfectly trained. "If you keep brushing me, I'll keep talking to you." 8)
Hi!
I live with 3 wonderful sheepies, but only Affair is able to talk to me.I do not mean the barking, but all the other noises she is able to do.her breeder said Fairlys mom does it and all the puppys from the A-litter.
Funny what kind of noises she is making until her silly mom is understanding her :D
Susanne
when Dutch wants to go out and I'm not quick enough she will start to bark and then I will just ignore her and then she tries this real low , up and down gruffy voice to talk to me and I have to laugh and so I get up and she gets to go out
major problem in my house with the pup dreamer the devil .. he talkes back to me for food and in the car like come on lets go!!
I have two who talk back. Our cat has major attitude talk backs. I have never heard a cat do that until we got him. It is bizarrely funny. Then there is Edgar. The older he gets the more grumbly he becomes. Just has to make sure that you KNOW the he is NOT happy with what ever it is. Never knew that dogs did that either. Good thing we don't have kids or we would have a whole family of grumble pants. :phew:

Patch talks to me by clacking her teeth together. It is the funniest thing. She usually does this if she needs to go out or just wants attention. Occasionally she barks back at me, but it is usually the clacking.

Are you meeting Jim somewhere to get your new pup?
Charlie is talking back to me, but not in the way I want her too! She is always moaning at me! if I say something to her, she acts like "I dont wanna do that...". It looks like she is arguing with me! How funny, so human!!! :D
I call Abbey, "gowly girl." She gowls not a mean, but more a talking when you play with her and hug her. You say, "gowley girl" and she has this deep throated grrrr, ggrrrrr.
These OES are characters, eh? It's cool hearing how they all communicate. :D

Fitz doesn't talk back, but he has a whole repertoire of various other communication techniques. He says "wee, wee, wee" whenever he gets anxious about anything ... it's cute. He comes right up in my face and says "YIPE! YIPE!" in a super-high pitched loud bark when he needs to go out for a potty ... it's not cute. (Ouch my ears). And in the morning when he wants me to get out of bed, he talks and talks - "whoa, awhoa, whoa, woe" which oddly sounds a lot like Chewbacca in Star Wars.

Simon the basset does the teeth clacking - it sounds like he is shivering. I hate the sound (also teeth grinding in humans) and I have no idea why it started. He never used too. He does it when he is real excited - like waiting for his food bowl. 8)
Wow, so its a sheepie thing, Tiggy clacks her teeth too!! It looks to me like she's trying to bark without making any noise. She knows I dont like it when she barks in my face, it hurts my ears, but when she's excited and wants my attention she does the funny teeth clacking thing.
When "Daddy" comes home...Lookout. Matisse traipse around the house like he owns the place and talks to Art like, well where have you been all day mister. He does the whole Ooouuuou roowwrrr roowrrr noises, no barking.....just typical guy talk. He will "conversate" with Art......What I really think it is. I think he's whining to Art about Cozette taking the toys from him....
From the moment I start dishing up their kibble in the morning, Jack has a running commentary that doesn't stop until he falls asleep at night. The guy has a mouth on him and an attitude to boot.
Roxie fusses at you with a series of barks if she's been left alone for more than 30 seconds. But when Cosmo is told to "sit" or "down" when he doesn't want to perform those acts, he'll do them and then look at you and "talk back"... Bernie calls it "back guff" (Irish term I'd say) and Cosmo lets him know he's not happy about being expected to "obey"!
