Nikki is Home!
Slept well last night - gets along famously with Bubba - is fascinated by our cat but not overly. We went to PetSmart this a.m. for accessories and he was so good. Walked like a little gentleman, friendly with others. We have had several walks and much quality time and he seems to be adjusting well. We are so happy with him and he seems very happy with us. At first, every little household noise spooked him - even when I got mail on my computer but now he seems to be used to the fact that there are some weird sounds in the house. Got him a dog bed so he would have a place that was all his, where he would feel secure and he took to it right away. He is a truly sweet Sheepie and has stolen our hearts already! Don't know how those who foster do it - it is truly a wonderful thing to do. |

| Wow, this is just great. We have watched Nikki go from a profoundly insecure rescue to a well adjusted and adopted love puppy.
Lucy/Thumper, you are a puppy angel. Thanks for sharing the ups and downs of fostering. I have followed your's and Nikki's stories with great interest and concern. You have done a great job, you should so proud of your little star rescue. Linda, I hope you keep us informed of Nikki's progress in your home and stay an active poster on this forum. I love success stories. With happy tears and and Henry believes Nikki deserves a good long belly rub and some cookies! |

Congrats on your new addition! Nikki sounds like he is doing well. I'm sure you are grateful to his foster Mom for caring so much about him - it was tough at the beginning and she really stuck in there and gave it her all! Obviously, those efforts really have paid off. Nikki has a special fairy DogMother. Keep us informed and I'd love to see pictures! Your Avatar is GORGEOUS! Is that Bubba??? Kristen |
| Yep - that is the Bubba dog.
Nikki is phenomenal - he is the sweetest little thing. We went to the dog park yesterday and he was a champ - got along with everyone. Went to the vet today for a get acquainted visit and he is a healthy little pup. His foster Mom obviously did a wonderful job with him and we are so grateful to her. Trying to get some good photos of Nikki - he spooks when I try to take his photo - he thinks it is a game and comes to me. The weather has been overcast here today - once the sun breaks through again going to take him outside and get some really good photos of him to share. Will keep everyone posted on his progress!
