PETA attacks Westminster

from the Logatto list:

PETA is lobbying USA Network to ban the airing of the Westminister
Kennel Club Dog Show. Please write to USA Network
expressing your desire to have the show aired.
The photo of last year's winner looks like a demented mutant taken while he was shaking his head.

ALso they (PETA) are suing NYC to stop the showing of docked dogs under NYS's animal cruelty law (which does not ban docking on the face of it)

I also used the link in the following PETS story to ask the Mayor of NYC not to contenance the PETA complaint. I believe he is a dog owner so I also reiterated PETA"s desire to eliminate the right to own pets.

Well what's new with those radicals, would not surprise me and I believe Crufts is facing a similar situation this year too with radical animal rights groups.

This was in our newspaper this morning, won't be fishing anymore be called hooking a Sea Kitten for dinner

"Puss In Boats"

A campaign to rename fish as "Sea Kittens" to improve their image has been ridiculed.

Outspoken animal rights group PETA is using the "sea kitten" name in its push to restrict fishing.

Opposition fisheries spokeman was not impressed. It's hard to take seriously an organisation that wants to change the name of fish.

   Ya gotta laugh at them MEOW Ooooh hang on I just caught a sea kitten
In a way, it's good that the crazier these requests get, the less they'll be taken seriously. I saw that sea kitten insanity and thought it was an excellent ploy to further degrade their credibility. It seems like 15 years ago, they weren't this crazy.
Sea kittens :? :? No way.
Did they forget that some cultures eat cats?
I may get a lot of grief for this one... and I am against all cruelty to animals... but Sea Kittens???? 8O

I am ok with wanting to protect dolphins, whales, sea lions etc. But to me a fish is a fish. It's just a fish. Fry it up... I'll eat it.

Agree there let's hope they keep up with all the crazy requests and people might stop donating to keep them financially active. Never seen PETA fight whaling, killing dolphins etc etc, never seen them actually doing anything actively to support animal rights, just a lot of hot air & nutty ideas as far as I am concerned. Where is PETA in fighting Whale slaughter by Japan ? You never hear of them physically taking up a challenge, just incorrect publicity and gullable people donating to a lost cause. Famous movie stars are also sucked in by them. Tut Tut Tut if only they would point there funds and infamous fame towards actual causes and physically be there in person in the plight of animals world wide, NOOOO they just spread unfactual crap and people are sucked in by it .
