A Sunny hello from Canada!

Ok, well it’s not very sunny in Canada right now, it’s -24 Celcius (that’s -11 Fahrenheit), but our OES, Sunny, is keeping things cheery :)

Sunny is our 11 month old furbaby. Everyone always asks about her name- a girl named Sunny- well, in terms of naming her, the poor thing was “puppy” for a good couple days. She came to us during a difficult time, and every time I looked at her, I just thought, “what a sunny spot in our lives”. So it was a no-brainer once I finally said it out loud. She's our sunshine :)

Since then, she’s managed to nestle into the very center of our lives-everything revolves around Sunny now. She’s my favourite topic, I could talk about her for hours, I could just sit and pet her for days, and the only reason why we ever stop playing, is because she gets a little worked up after a while and starts jumping on top of me :o It breaks my heart every time we go somewhere that we can’t take her- she has come to be known as the “go with” dog, because we haul her around in our hatchback pretty much everywhere we go (weather permitting of course). And she gets pretty bent out of shape when she’s not allowed to “go with”.

I just never knew I could love a dog THIS much, I find myself watching her sleep with a smile on my face and pride swelling in my heart as if I’m watching a sleeping baby.

Well, like I said, I could talk about her for hours. I'll post more in the Introduction Survey section so as to not leave too long a post ;)

I look forward to learning about everyone's OES's, and learning more about the breed from everyone. Thanks for reading this!

Andrea (Sunny's proud mom)

Congrats, Andrea, on the new addition to your family. I love the reason you named her. I especially liked when you said you smiled when you watched her sleep - I find myself also watching Patch sleep thinking what would my world be like without her. I also adopted Patch at about 11 mos (her birthdate is the day I picked her up) and 6 years later adore her like I did that very day we met. Best wishes to you and Sunny - I hope you enjoy many years together. By the way, I, too, have learned a lot on this Board.
Hello from Brandon Manitoba - its been sunny, just not warm here the last few days. This morning it was -32 & with the windchill it was -52!! Thats -26 & -61 farhenheit! Everyone, kids & dogs alike can't wait for it to warm up so they can get outside & let some steam off! Even our sheepie only stays out a couple minutes, he usually like to burrow into the snowbanks but its just too cold & the snow's too hard now.
