Big Big Brag on Baloo
We have really been working on one of Baloo's worst commands: STAY He has never really gotten the hang of it no matter how hard I try.... but in the last 2 weeks, a light must have went off or something, because he has been doing AMAZINGLY well at it. We have practiced SIT-STAY, DOWN- STAY, STAY in back of car with all doors open and fun stuff going on around outside the car, STAY on his bed, STAY on the grooming table, Stay with me there, or with me walking to another room, STAY for a few seconds, STAY for a timed minute(s).... BALOO has just about mastered all of these. AAGHGHHH I am soo excited. He is doing soooo soooo great!! Staying was the one thing he was just the worst at following. I was reading and re-reading and asking people and his past obedience teacher-- WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? So my point to this long post is: BALOO has gotten the hang of stay! and he also has mastered the down-stay with a treat placed right next to his paws... and he didn't go for it till released!!!    |

Today we decided that Baloo's next big focus this year is to learn to BRUSH HIMSELF. I was trying to do a quick brush out on his legs and he just didn't want any part of it-- kept trying to pull his leg away from me. I told him that unless he was going to do it himself -- he better hold still.

| Although hubby DID get him to SIT-DOWN-STAY using only hand signals this afternoon. Baloo got it right on the very first try!! |
