New Year

Firstly I would like to wish you all A Happy New Year.

In Germany they let off a lot of fireworks at New Year, I was just wondering how the sheepies from the other forum members cope with this and if they have stress with the noise.

I have three at home, Hamish does not like the noise and prefers to stay in when it is really noisy. Misty was standing with Linda on the terrace watching the fireworks and trying to tempt the other two out to play. Zorro on the other hand just looked for a corner to crawl into and hoped it would just go away.

I would not say they boys are afraid but they certainly do not like the noise.

AWWWW!!! poor boy!!! Heart runs to the bathroom and (tries) to hide behind the commode.......  Pearl doesn't care one way or th other...Please give Zorro a big empathetic :ghug: from Heart!!! She knows what he is going through. 8)
Obe is the same as Zorro. I felt so sorry for him as they set of fireworks @ 8 and then again @ midnight.

The first boom and he freaked out, he was sleeping. He went to his bay window/bed area, came running back. Finally hide in the bathroom as he could not see the flash(s) of light. Went to sleep.

Then came out a couple hours later laid down beside me. Around 11:30 I turned up the music and we started playing. Again boom and flashes of light he went straight to my bed and did not move until this morning.

Happy New Year as well. :D

No one does fireworks for New Year's around here - must be too cold??? I actually had never heard of doing fireworks for New Years until we had exchange students from Europe stay with us.
So, if you want to get away from fireworks on New Years - move to Minnesota!!

(But we still do them on the 4th of July) 8)
Happy New Year!

Ru doesn't care about noise, he's been used to my very loud music in the car since we got him & seems more curious when there are loud noises, he comes to see what is going on if I drop a pan or something for example.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! There are indeed Fireworks galore here in Florida. They started about 8:00 last night over our lake. I was laying in bed watching TV and knew they had started because Violet came up to me and needed comforting. Asia was laying on the floor and was fast to sleep. (she and I had a rambumptious play session so she was tuckered out). China was sleeping in the Cabana on the tile floor and was out like a light. Poor Violet finally layed down next to Asia, but kept looking up and around.
Before we moved to this house, Violet never had a problem with Fireworks, but we moved here the week before 4th of July and something must have scared her with them because we had months where she would not go outside during the night to go potty without supervision, so many accident to clean out of beige carpeting. Finally have her through that and anothe holiday is upon us. Our house is CVS so very sound proof, but dogs do have great hearing. I could see the fireworks from my bed because the cabana has a glass door and an octogon window over the garden tub. Finally Violet did go to sleep. She and hubby even slept in this morning. Asia/China/I where up at 4:00 as usual. lol
I hope everyone elses pets did ok.
Happy New Year!!

Maizie Hates them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she just barks...!! Where as Hattie doesn't take any notice of them last night steve let her out and she stood watching them bless... while maze was curled up on her bed!! safe!!! :)
Happy New Year!!!

Tiggy was unsettled and unsure not really scared but I think that was partly because of all the yelling and shouting, as it was a warm night here so everyone was outside partying.

My dalmo absolutely hates them though, so despite the music I play to attempt to mask the noise he starts to run around with nerves. This also played a part in unsettling Tiggy but the dalmo was better this year because he had Tiggy here with him. A pack is a good thing :D :D
:D Happy New Year Everyone! We're having yet another show storm!!! No fireworks as far as I know! 8) Willoughby dosen't seem to mind on the fist of July long as he can find me. We always go inside in case! 8)
