SO are you going out tonight or

Staying home? We stopped going out years ago. Weather was part, cost of it was high. I would much rather have a small group of freinds here and if needed stay the night.
So again what are you doing tonight?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The plans are going out for a quick supper with a friend, then going to another's house at 7pm for "nibbles." I'll be home by 10!
for th efirst time in - well forever, we made plans to go out with friends to a dinner dance tonight. of course we are in the midst of a snow storm so it may be home with leftovers....
Oh no, home all the way. Don't want to be near anyone who has been drinking and may be driving. Bed early so I can get up New Year's Day and drink mimosas and eat the last of the Christmas cookies while watching the Rose Parade.

Wish someone rich would whisk me to Pasadena for champagne breakfast and seats for the real parade and whisk me back home in time for dinner.
I'm cooking a steak dinner :D
Then it's our favourite dvds until midnight.
We will watch everyone else's fireworks from the wonderful view we have of 3 towns upstairs!

We like to stay in and avoid the drunks too, it gets really messy round here
I may walk across the street to the local watering hole but most likely not. Some friends invited me to go to Denver but that is really a hassle. Will feel like crap the next day.
So I'm thinking about hanging with Obe and watching the fireworks from the porch. They will be shooting them off at the lake @ midnight. It's only a five minute walk to the lake, but Obe does not do well with fireworks. Reason I think we may try it from the porch. Then we could go inside if need to.
We will stay at home with the dogs, we have told all our friends to feel free to call round if the want too (I have plenty of scotch at home) and Linda will make the traditional Steak Pie with potatoes.

Should be pretty quiet though never the less:

Happy New Year everybody 8)
We always go for an early dinner (6 ish) with another couple, then just go home.

We try our hardest to stay awake for the east coast midnight, but usually don't make it.

Happy New Year!
Most likely staying in...*sigh* getting old...
Same as you OES mommy. 1 couple will be coming over here & they do that as they have no pets & they don't want ours to be kenneled all night! Nice friends! So the dogs will get to take turns visitng with the adults. Lots of snacks to eat....trail bologna, chips, dip, crackers, hot peppers, sauerkraut balls, jalepeno poppers......the list goes on & on. And plenty to drink!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :yay:
Wow! I'm the only one going out? Weird!!!
We're going out to dinner with a group of people and it'll probably turn into an impromptu party. Nothing organized though. It's so cold it makes me not want to get dressed up though. I'd probably go out every new Year's Eve if I lived in a warmer climate!
we are having the parents over for dinner then off to disney world for the evening weather we stay till firworks is another matter but we will havefun.\

zoe and einy
Our best friends live down the block from us (convenient in this horrid weather). We're going there for munchies and movies.

Sometime after midnight one of us will awaken and wake up all the rest of us (who have fallen asleep on the couch) and we'll say Happy New Year and then we'll head home.

We're party animals.

Then again, three out of four of us are teachers, and all teachers know that a NEW YEAR starts in September, and this stuff is just an excuse to stay up late (which teachers aren't really capable of anyway).

Happy New Year all.
We just went to dinner with friends and then to the movies. Saw Doubt - very good!

The timing was perfect, too. Got home about 11:55, just in time to hear the countdown from Times Square.
Well, it's over but....

Went to work at 6am, so I was doubting my staying awake ability. We always go to a family party - so we went over to one of Todd's brothers house. They live about 25 minutes from us.

We drove separately, as I had conformation class at 6:30, and the class is only a few miles from the brother's house. Got to the party at 8 - and I brought the munchies with me. I got a platter of cocktail shrimp - and I wanted to make sure I got some. Todd went over about 7pm - so it would have been gone before I got there!

Oh, Chewie stayed with me. Their 3 unruly dogs are crated, so Chewie couldn't be loose. He got to hang out in the basement bathroom. Nice cool tile, a dish of water, and I never heard a peep. He gave everyone kisses and wiggles though!

The guys play a poker tournament out in the heated garage, some of the females as well. The rest of us visit and watch movies. We watched Mama Mia - very good!
Then we all watch the countdown and kiss the spouses and whomever  a happy new year. I went home - I was exhausted. The poker game was still going - I have no idea what time Todd got home.

we went out too. it was different, and a lot of fun!!
Bobby had to work until 11:30pm so I watched TV and had a mug of hot wassil at midnight ( of course I always make it with rum, but that always evaporates out with heating right????? 8) ). We also have the homemade egg nog that Bobby makes every year for Christmas left to finish. It has enough liqour's in it to preserve it until next year.
Staying in as I picked up some kind of intestinal bug and have been barfing and the other end stuff all day. I feel much better today 1/1/09
We went to dinner with our friends very early. Had a great time. I had 2 drinks (which is my going out standard) but also had a glass of champagne...which made me tipsy! Very happy tipsy!

Tony and I were home by 9, and sound asleep by 10:30!

It was a perfect new years eve!
brian worked...

i made lamb stew for my neighbor and her mom...helped her take her tree down and was in bed by 10 pm....
We went to a "party" in my Dad's development. Actually, it was kind of fun. We played cards, domino's, drank dandelion wine and ate. First time in a long time we stayed up until midnight. Ha-- and we were visiting in a retirement community 8)
how great.sounds like a good time!!!!
