Bob and I go on Weight Watchers

Bob the Wonder Pony has the official title of "Fatty Fatty Fat Pants." I haven't ridden him in at least 2 weeks due to weather and the holidays. so last night I put the saddle on him and I couldn't get the girth around his fat barrel! It doesn't help that he was holding his breath, but still it was a struggle. So more exercise for him, and his feed will be cut back if the exercise doesn't do the trick. I'm having him tested for insulin resistance after the first of the year and I'm hoping that that is not the reason for him looking like a light bulb when you look at him from the front.

And I also need to lose weight so we're in this together.

Paula, did you try having him lay flat on the bed before you tried to connect the saddle 8) ? That always worked when my jeans were too tight!

Bob will be a most excellent exercise partner! Lots of activity points for horse back riding!
I was supposed to go to slimming world tonight but no way...I have done two and a half hours line dancing this afternoon though.
ps we stopped in the middle for some snacks!
I need to be in the diet barn too !! :D
I've been in the diet barn (funny - just had to use that phrase    ) as well. It is working - about 20 pounds are gone!
Sooo..... How is Bob doing on his diet and exercise regime?
Bob and I are doing well. I lost 2 pounds last week. Bob has been exercised 4 times in the last week and I can get the girth around him with no problem. (I've probably just jinxed myself). He's still getting tested for insulin resistance though. It's a common problem in "older" horses, plus the vet is running a "special" this month on lab tests.
I had to laugh when I read that bob was holding his breath!!
I have a lovely image of him with his cheeks and his belly blowing out and you pulling on the girth strap to get it fastened!

Hope both your diets work for you! I'll join you too as I have put on about 5lbs over Christmas

Vicki, that's exactly what he does (except his cheeks don't puff out)! His stomach gets all big and he doesn't breath. I ask him "are you going to hold your breath til your face turns blue???" Usually if I give him a treat he exhales. He can be very silly sometimes!
Is Bob staying ahead of hunger???? Hmmmmm?

Yes itsamazing how long they can do that for

When I had my horse I used to have a longer girth for the summer for when he had a big fat grass belly!
I love your stories about Bob. I was laughing about him looking like a light bulb I could just picture that :D
UPDATE: Bob is off pony Weight Watchers (I don't think he lost any weight anyway). Had the vet out yesterday to do routine bloodwork (they run a special in January so decided to have a baseline done on him). The vet said he has a few fat spots in his neck (his neck must the equivalent of my butt) but other than that, he's a good weight and she wants him to stay where he is. So I can't call him Fatty Fatty Fat Pants any longer.
:D Merlin is very happy to hear that Bob is out of the diet barn! :clappurple: He said that a guy has to keep his profits where he can see them!

You can still call him, Fatty Fatty, Fatty NECK!
