Fernies' Red Letter Day

Here in Scotland, the Scottish Kennel Club have a show once a year for the top Open Show Dog of the Year. There are only 48 dogs and 16 puppies accepted for this show. You tally all your points for 2004 and send them off to the SKC and if your dog is in the top 48 then you are invited to take part.
Well guess what we got through the post of Friday???? 8O Yep Fernie has been invited to take part!!!!! :D
The show will take place on the 13th of February and will take the form of a match format. I am so pleased at being asked to take part. We will probably go out in the first round but hey, I don't care. Taking part is achievement enough.
Well done Fernie. 8)

Congratulations and best wishes to Fernie for the February Show !
It will be fun for you to participate !

Our sheepies brother was just in his first show last weekend,
and won!

So Fernie, go for it !!! And have fun..... :D
Good Luck! I'm sure you'll do wonderful! Can't wait to hear all about it...

Kristen
How exciting!!! Make sure to let us know! By the way- your most recent avatar of Fernie is gorgeous!!!

Karen :)
Wow! Congratulations! You must be so proud, and excited!
Thanks guys for all your good wishes. We will give it our best shot and see how far we can go. But that said, even if we are just there on the day, it is a great achievement for Fernie to be asked. So for that alone we are truely chuffed. I am really looking forward to seeing all the other top dogs and being able to say........... "We were part of that group" Sorry to sound as though I am bragging but for Fernie to be accepted for this show, given he has been discriminated against for having a tail, is just the best I could ever have hoped for. It's also the first time we have ever entered too.
I will let you all know what happens on the day, of that you can be assured. LOL
Clipper.

BTW Guest, sorry you didn't leave your name, congrats on your sheepies brother winning his first show. I hope it is the first of many for him.
Ohhhh but of course there is nothing wrong with being superproud of Fernie. I know I am!!! He's part of this wonderful group that exist on this forum and it seems we all know each other. You have every right to be proud!!!! I know I am!!! Way to go Fernie!!!

I like your thinking too...that it's just an honor being asked and even tho winning is an extra bonus, the fact that he was asked to take part is enough!

I was suprised to hear he's descriminated for having a tail as I thought that was only in North America that they held such views. I love tails on sheepies myself, , my former OES , Shaggy had one. Hers was not as beautiful and lush looking as Fernie's ...his is gorgeous!!! He's such a beautiful looking boy. Good luck to you both and I'd love to hear about the events of the day and will be thinking of you in Feb.

Is that Fernie in your icon pic? He's a handsome boy. Good luck!
Yes Heather, that is indeed the lad in question. Thanks for the good luck wishes, we both really appreciate them all.

It's getting near to D day, only one week to go til the show. I'm looking forward to taking part but more so to see all the other fantastic dogs that will be there too. So long as we do our best, we will be happy.
Thanks again for all the good wishes. I'll give you a run down of our day next week. Probably after I've got home and had a stiff drink. LOL
Catch you all later.
Clipper aand Fernie
Best of luck!! We'll be thinking of you and can't wait to hear all about it when you return!! :D
It's the countdown to Fernie's first show !!!!

Just brush, fluff and go !!!!!

Dazzle them Fernie

Good luck on Feb 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Zahra, this isn't Fernies' first show. LOL He's an old hand at the showing now. He's two and a half years old and has been shown since he was 10 months. LOL This show is for the top 48 Scottish dogs competing at Open Shows. So we are in with the elite of Scottish Canine show dogs. LOL As I have said previously, I don't feel we will do very well but to be invited to this show, means that Fernie is already a winner in my eyes.
Thanks for the good wshes, it was great of you to take the time to post. We both appreciate it.
I'll let you all know how it went after the show on Sunday.

Correction, should read Fernie's show!!!
So sorry, just lost my focus in all the excitement !!!!
Best wishes and please update us after the show...
The next day is Valentines Day, bet Fernie will get a special treat !!!
(A little roast beef in the shape of a heart would be nice...)
If the shows included a session on sheepies talking, we would enter
our fellow. This morning while I made his breakfast, he talked non
stop (not barking, talking). We did include a small amount of
roast beef this morning. Obviously, a real favorite !!!!
