Wine Gravy Recipe

When making gravy for the turkey, in addition to the delicious stock you've prepared, splash some wine into the gravy. No more than 4 ounces for a maiden voyage. Of course use an excellent white wine, the same fine quality you'll be drinking during dinner.

Did this on a whim years ago and the family put me in charge of gravy prep every year there after. They never knew my secret. Sssshhhhhhh.

i do that too....this year, i went over to a friends house....when i said that i would make the gravy, she about flipped when i went home (she lives a few houses down) to get good wine, buillion and kitchen bouquet...geeze, you need flavor, ya know!

ps...it was excellent! :D
Right, you sure do need flavor! A little demi glace works wonders too. Used a mushroom concentrate this year......enough to make me want to try using a stock from assorted mushrooms......and maybe brandy instead of wine.
mmmmmmm.....do you get your demi glaze at w.s?
I didn't see it there, but then I was with DH. In past they have carried it. Whole Foods used to carry it as well.......used to. Just checked website, yes, WS has chicken glace and an osso bucco braising base........oh YUM!
