It's freezing! and getting worse

Man, is it getting cold. Winter (although not officially here) is hitting with force here. Luckily, we missed most of the snow - west and north they are in a major blizzard as well. We just get the cold and a bit of snow.

Right now it is -1F (-18C) and windy - 25-30 mph winds. So it feels like -23F.

Worse is to come though. The forcast for us is tonight -7F (-22C). The high tomorrow is -4F (-20C) and the low tomorrow night down to -14F (-26C).
I am really not looking forward to going to work in the morning or on Tuesday! 8O

Can't say I blame you. Living in northeast Ohio we get similar weather over the winter. This has just been a frigid winter so far for a lot of us! Bundle up!!!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
It is cold in Minnesota!!!!!! To top it off, my husband just announced that he has to go to Palm Beach, Florida for a business meeting this week. Not fair!

OUCH.... I bet Florida is going to be very warm.
For some reason we are supposed to be in the upper
70's all week!
8O

Marty and I discussed moving to Minnesota, don't think I
could do it!
Stay warm!!!
Be thankful you have power (we do) Nearly 1 million in the northeast are trying to get by for the last two days and into next week without power. we only have a water restriction - but even that is a pain when you are trying to get ready for the holidays

Louisville had a power outage for a week in September after being hit with the tail end of Ike. the inconvenience was terrible, but the weather was nice so we were lucky with good temperatures - I can't imagine the people in the northeast without heat in those freezing temps. And getting the power back on in those conditions have to be unbearable for the light and gas workers - I totally agree that we are lucky just to have power.
37 at least here yesterday, its fans and air conditioning all the way these days.
Today is was up to 50 degrees in Chicago. But very very windy.
Tomorrow the high is suppose to be only 19. Ick!

Mary
Try and stay warm brrrr
Colorado is COOlllllllllDDDDDDDd today and going to be MUCH colder tonight! it was 54 degres yesterday and it snowed sometime between 2 am and 7 am. The snow is gorgeous champagne snow. The dogs are loving it and i'm having a hard time getting them to come in...... i guess they don't get dirty so why not??
We are supposed to have a high of 14 degrees F tomorrow..... way below zero tonight.
BBBRRRR!

We were in the high 40's today, almost 50. I can't say I like that , but, will take it over - 14 anyday. I like it to be about 30, snow on the grass, not the roads or side walk. :D

Stay safe and stay WARM!!
It's cold in Evergreen, Co. Obe goes out to use the bathroom and come right back in. He was out today playing and we walked downtown and it was 2 degrees @ noon. At least we got snow so it's not that bad. This type of cold and no snow, dont like it!
OH THANKS DAWN!!!

Today it was "warm" in the forties but now with what you said I know what its going to be like. You KNOW what you have...we will get!

Sorry.....
Yep, it is coming your way. We are down to -4F, with a wind chill of -30F thanks to the sustained winds over 30mph with gusts up to 40 mph. Oh, and it started snowing again too.
Windy and warm today.....not temps are dropping...snow/ice possible for tomorrow..welcome...MONDAY!!!

I just turned on the fire, dogs on the their tuffet, sleeping...
Oh Ali, I read Denver is currently -15 already 2 degrees colder than the forecast low for the night! Brrrrrr
8O It's really cold here: -25 C with the wind chill! I had to shovel the driveway twice as the wind blew a lot of the snow back. Willoughby doesn't like this much cold: he zips out, eats snow, shakes his paws , does his thing and zooms back in. 8)
Well it is now -15 at my house. It is supposed to be down to -20 tonight and with windchill it will be like -38 they say.

More snow tomorrow 8-18 inches.
Can't you guys up North of the border control these arctic clippers a little bit better???????

BURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Brrrrrr, baby it's cold outside...not here of course, around 80 all week. I did see MN on the weather with the blizzard and once again was so happy we made the decision to move to a warm climate.

Stay Warm! 8)
I hate texas. Though we're not experiencing your temps AT ALL... we go from 78 to 34 every few days. Can't even #%R@$%@ figure out what to wear, and it's making everyone sick!! Okay, I realize you guys are more worried about figuring out how you're going to get out of your driveway.
Ok I have not watched the news yet so not sure how cold it is. Last night got up and got some h2o. Temp outside was -36. Obe is laying beside the extra heater I have, and has been there. For the record, it could snow 12 feet, I'm NOT going snowboarding! Local + season pass= I dont ride in these conditions. Feel sorry for all the tourist who came to ski this week...ENJOY!

And so we did....I wanted to kiss my car when it started this morning but figured my lips would freeze to the hood and that would make driving kind of hard  8)

Dogs love it and are too stupid to come in.  :P

Kristine
its in the 40's and windy here today - making power restoration a problem as well.

I do believe we are getting the cold after this though - oh joy :(
it was 49 on the way to work this morning...needless to say, my space heater is on HIGH!
Its freezing here! And we got hit with an ice storm last night. Now, they are predicting a snow storm for tomorrow....

And...it only 1/2 way through December! I"m getting too old for this nonsense!
-15F and ice fog at my house this AM. Lucky for me, I've got NO reason to leave the house today! Once the sun comes up (at around 10AM  ) the trees, all coated in ice from the fog, should be gorgeous. Ill try to post some pics later today! 8) These fogs have been rolling through all weekend, and its really been neat, if a bit eerie. Last night we were driving home from a dinner party, and the steetlights were doing that weird ice fog-related thing, where they all shoot their light straight UP into the sky...freaky!

My car was frozen shut this morning, so I walked to the bus stop. I got a brain freeze from breathing!
this is crappy weather. The pictures on the news of all the ice in the east look horrible.
Now i see OK to Tennessee are getting the ice.

We are finally done with the big winds, and it is still cold. We are at -10F (-23C) and getting colder. It stayed in the negatives all day - although it was nice and sunny, lots of sun dogs! (around the sun).
It rained over the weekend and boy did it rain, rain fell in 2 days then the entire month of November which is usually the wettest month. WOO HOO we need the rain.

Dawn you need to visit here this time of year in the sunshine rather then blizzards. We'll warm ya up with beach play and cool ya down with a cocktail full of crushed ice.

Hey did you know Tim Tams are great in the fridge on a hot day? DROOL :P :excited:

WOO HOO Surfs up
Shon, PLEASE do NOT go boarding right now!!! The avalanche danger up there is extreme right now........ We don't want to have to go digging you out............ if yo do, carry your cell phone with you so we can gps find you!!!!

It is now minus 10 again. It is warming up........... We didn't have trash pickup today as the trucks were all frozen up. So were all the school busses.

Whats funny about this is Norm was so worried about the cold in Korea, they were warning him about it. He** it was 58 degrees there yesterday and today! I called him and told him i didn't want to hear him complain about cold at all!!!

Even Caly and Checkers don't want to stay outside longer than 4-5 minutes....... you know it's cold!!!
I'm glad you got some rain down there, finally Lisa.
Todd was watching an episode of Survivorman filmed down there - it sure was dry. And the flies that don't bite, but swarm all over your face - weird! Our flies bite and bite.

Hmm, Tim Tams sound super about now.......
I've got no room to complain. It's dreary here, but at least it's not cold. You've got real winter weather!

Ravenmoonart - so happy to see you back here! :D

Lisa - I'm thrilled you're getting rain!! Now, please tell me about Tim Tams.
hmmmm....

With the windchill it was MINUS 44 degrees C this morning...Without it was "only" minus 30ish C. In F that's -47.2 with the windchill, and "only" -22 without.

You gotta love Winnipeg! Check in with me in the summer and I'll be complaining that it's PLUS 45 (or higher) C with the humidex. We only have a few good days...maybe three in the spring and three more in the fall.

This is why Winnipeggers are inherently grumpy.

Tammy, there disgustingly YUMMY, Chocolate Biscuit with a centre of Chocolate cream then the whole lot is covered in thick Dairy Milk Chocolate :excited:

Dawn has tasted them and is hooked. Calories plus happening with the addiction of Tim Tams. 8O

An Aussie Icon YUM YUM YUM :excited:
Yes, Tim Tams are the most evil chocolate dessert on earth. :(

Good thing I live VERY far away from Australia!!! They would sorely test my will power if I could have them on a regular basis.

We are now above zero!!! (F)
But, we got snow all day and the drive home tonight was nasty. Took me over 45 minutes, which normally is a quick 20 minute drive at 70 mph!
Many cars in the ditch and over ravines. 8O
I drove careful - I love my Element too much to crash us. :D

Mine - want to stay out all the time. I looked like a marshmellow - walking them in this weather.

But I am starting to think - I am the stupid one - I stay out with them. Then in the morning when they want to cuddle in bed I let them - then the sheepies steal my covers

It is good thing they are cute!
Oh man! Those Tim Tams sound delicious! I am a big fan of chocolate deserts. :D
