4) I visited my family in September!
4) I'm walking better than ever!
okay I can do this too:

1) Tonks and Luna. Our first full year with the girls, and its been so great!

2) finally our back tax problems are taken care of, and we can look forward to buying our first home!

3) I'm still able to survive as a freelance artist; any year I don't have to pack it in and take a "regular job" to pay the bills is a good year!
Me too

1. Hubby mostly recouped from his illness

2. Bought a new home and love it

3. Living closer to my daughter and g/daughter so get to see them much more often

4.And Dutch is a wee bit older and a wee wee wee bit quieter

Oh, nice thread!

1) my brother's leukemia being of the generally very treatable variety (finding out he has leukemia a week and a half ago; easily one of the most awful moments of my life).
2) finally getting to meet my only niece and realizing that she is indeed everything I told my sister she deserved when we used to fight with each other growing up   (She's sort of the human equivalent of Sybil  )
3) graduating from a wagon to a van so dogs no longer have to travel like packed sardines.
4) the best agility instructor anyone could ask for
5) Sybil

How could I forget; I'm SO GRATEFUL for our excellent trainer, amazing vet, and really wonderful dog park!

AND THIS ONLINE COMMUNITY OF FRIENDS!!!! :hearts:
I only need one:

My Dublin Mae.

She makes every day better and it is always nice to come home to someone who is always happy to see me.
1) I got to see my family earlier this year so that was nice.
2) I have some of the best friends in the world.
3) I'm still able to dream my life and live my dreams.

I did not include Obe because he is everything to me. To quote a song: "When all the others left
I knew you'd stick around
come here now, come here now sit
lie down now, lie down my friend
my best friend my, very best friend" .
1. Mr. J got out of the military and I no longer have to fear losing him to gunfire or an IED in Iraq
2. The birth of Joshee (yes having my husband back comes before the birth of my second son) ...though it's a close second. My husband is my partner for life :)
3. lil J finally started saying a few 2-word words ...we've been praying forever on this!

Those are the top 3 on my list, but I'd have to say this entire year has been nothing but blessings! I'm just thankful we are all healthy and together.

I can't say yet whether mequpak is a blessing or a monster, so he won't be #4 ;)

Good thread!
i am happy i still have my home my health and 2 great oes's
Actually I have no complaints - I've had ups and downs like everyone else in the world, but am specifically thankful for

4. and my heart, Patch.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a very happy, and especially healthy, 2009.

that might win for "thing to be the most grateful for EVER." What a terrible thing to have to deal with; I don't know how so many families do it. I'm grateful that I do not know that kind of fear, and also glad that your fear was never realized!!!
1) FINN!!!! :hearts:
(and being able to be a stay at home puppy mom with him
for the summer!)

2) The most awesome friends EVER!
(on line and off)

3) A much better brand new job! :yay:
Great Thread!

1) John--- and our wonderful MAX. I love these two guys. :hearts:

2) tie**** My family and friends-- and their support during my "hiccup" of year with health issues. I am truly blessed. This includes all of you of course!

3) The ability to still laugh and find the humor in this thing called 'Life"

4) So thankful that all of our needs are met. This should really be number one.

Oops- couldn't stop at three... :D
That is a GOOd thing.
Okay but in no particular order

1) my daughter (baby) finally got out of school - and got a good job!!
2) Meeting so many of you at Sheepie Palooza and the first North East grooming seminar :D
3) A trainer I can work with to get the dogs where I want them to be and the best herding instructor!
4) Miss Marley (don't tell the others) 8O :D :D

thanks Deb, it's been a good year for me!

And congrats to you and your kids for finishing school and finding jobs!!
I am thankful for 3 good things that have happened this year:

1. I think we are finally getting to the end of our 7 yrs of bad luck. (funny I don't remember breaking any mirrors. lol) We see a light at the end of a tunnel.

2. hubby getting a new job and moved to a new area, living our dream in Florida.

3. Adopting Asia in April

4. Son finally getting his Masters Degree from University of Michigan
Sorry, I had to do four also.
2008 has been a mixed bag for us as well. On the minus side, we lost our beloved Drezzie back in May, a heartbreak that will take a very long to heal, if ever. But the pluses outweigh the minuses, and those I'm most thankful for are:

1. Dale, of course. He's been my rock for 33 years, gotten me thru some pretty rough health times, never wavering. My hero.

2. Sarah (daughter) graduated college in May with honors. This may not sound like much, but knowing how our girl struggled in public school and how we admittedly were apprehensive as she started college, this is HUGE. Words just can't describe how proud of her we are. And the icing on the cake for her self-esteem was that she got a job she loves within 10 days of graduation - whew! :phew:

3. We adopted Sammie from Nita and IN/MOES in November. She is just the BEST dog EVER and we're so glad we waited those few months between dogs. She couldn't be more perfect if we had created her to our specifications ourselves.

4. We're both still employed and able to keep up our home and lifestyle. Not that our lifestyle is extravagant, but it's better than it was when we were poor newlyweds!

It goes without listing for this year or any year that all my family and friends (including all my forum friends) are people I couldn't live without. I'm forever grateful and thankful for you all!
I only have one!!!!!!!!!! My girls!!!!!

I love the too bits!!!!!!!!! :)
1) 10 years with Jason. I've been with him 1/3 of my life now, and I hope to spend the remaining 2/3s with him. :D He really is my best friend.

2) My family (human and furry) is healthy and happy. We have a roof over our heads, enough food to eat, and Jason's job is secure so we're doing okay.

3) My brother and his wife are having a nephew in April, and my BIL and SIL are having TWINS in July after trying for 3 years to have a baby. Although the little ones aren't here yet, just the news of their arrival has made 2008 a great year. :)
I'm enjoying reading this thread and was trying to narrow down my list to three. There is so much to be thankful for it's hard to do.

1. The health of my family. Daddy had a heart attack a few weeks ago and subsequently a double by-pass. This was actually a blessing. The mild heart attack allowed the cardiologist to find the blockages and get them fixed while Daddy is still healthy. He'll recover fully and this will give us another 20+ years with him. So yeah, I'm thankful for a heart attack.

2. My friends (including all of you!). I so appreciate my good friends. :D

3. My pets. They are such a source of joy and comfort for me. I am truly thankful for them.
