max is embarrassed....

Max has been scratching, panting, and rolling in the snow a lot lately. As he had a longer coat then I have ever had him in, I figured he was hot. I took him to a new groomer tonight and asked her for a "mutt cut"- fluffy legs and head and smooth body; at least that was what is was at the last groomer!

I picked him up and he actually looked embarrassed. His beard was matted so she shaved it, his ears were trimmed, (his whole head is shorter than I've ever seen it) his legs are fluffy and he has a shorter stripe from his "heinie hole" on down, like a little racing stripe! It's cute and I am not upset, it's just different than what I was used to. He is actually skulking around the house and I can almost see a thought bubble over his head.... "What the he!!!"

One time I went to pick up my 1st sheepdog, Murray, from the groomer, and he had a MOHAWK the full length of him!!!!

(It was when my daughter was in dog grooming school and she did it.)

no photos, and i don't know why either. but it was in 2001, october. so she then dyed his mohawk red white and blue for halloween...

(she just opened a salon in upstate new york.) (for the punk rock dogs)
ha ha
I'll try and take some today- he doesn't look BAD, but he does look like a terrier who ran into a poodle. LOL
My first two sheepies always acted embarassed when we had them shaved for the summer. It only lasted about one day and then they were back to their typical bad sheepie self
Fortunately these two love their summer cuts! MO runs nonstop across the yard, "I can fly....." Both know they get extra rubbies when in short coat.
When I first moved to SF, my Einstein's first trip to the groomer resulted in a poodle cut. He WAS embarrassed. Poor guy barked at himself in the sliding glass door (reflection) for days and looked so sad. Needless to say, we did not go back to that groomer. It was the beginning of me grooming him myself which turned about to be great "our time" for the two of us.
