Anyone else feel that Christmas Panic?

Truthfully I've always disliked Christmas and the cards from OES members are really the highlight for me. Thanks for that!

I've just ordered my cards and already recieved numerous ones. OMG!!! I'm late this year! Still have to address envelopes, get stamps and pick up cards. HMPH! I wasn't this late last year! I was one of those early people ...so hope you guys forgive my slow year. Cards should be ready in a few days and I"m praying they get to their destination before Christmas. :)

I feel your panic!
It's just Dec. 5 ( okay, almost Dec. 6 ). It could be much later...like Dec. 20
OH YES BIG TIME!!!!! :( :( :(
Yeah, I'm getting bitchy. Not a good season for me.
No way. Christmas is awesome. People worry too much. Everybody needs to relaxxxxxxxxxxxx. :D
Too much needs to be done in too short of time for me. I have already decided NOT to bake cookies. I may try the sugared pecans & the toffee recipes that were listed on the forum instead. One kennel club Christmas dinner out of the way. 2 other company Christmas dinners to go to yet. And next week will be taken up with getting 2 dogs ready for the dog shows in Cleveland, OH, going to the show site to save grooming space & then spending 3 days at the shows :phew: I usually have my tree up & decorated by now. Not this year. I have already decided there is no way short of a miracle it will even be up before the 14th let alone decorated. Gotta fit all this stuff around work too! But on the bright side. I have the other decorations around the house almost done & my Christmas cards almost ready to mail :yay: Not much shopping needs to be done this year. Good thing since I have an inflamed IP band in my left leg again! No fun getting old :( I have decided this year I am going to forego a few things & try to enjoy the holidays instead of trying to make everything so perfect & be supermom!
shhhhh! don't say the c word too loudly I'm hoping my teenager won't notice it..........
Last year mine arrived this year, in February. LOL

So you can't be much later than I was!
Ron, yours were awesome!

I have received many cards. Thank you all. It is wonderful seeing them each year.
I have to admit however that this year I didn't get a new picture done. There was just too much going on with getting Norm ready to leave. But i do think you'll like the card that comes......... it's a tribute to my foundation Rosie and Myrddin......... I'm just not in the 'spirit' this year. I'm not even putting up any decorations at all here....

I'm hoping to get them out this coming week.......
I will feel much better after the house is decorated...and we are beginning today. Tree-time. :D :D :D :D :D :D .

First a good cleaning  ......then up and down the steps to get ALL the Christmas stuff out   ....then putting up all the stuff in the boxes   ....then going out an buying NEW stuff...cuz the stuff from last year is broken or just doesn't go with the new paintjob we just got done with..   STUFF.....stuff....and more stuff...

BUT it is all worth it when the grandbabies come over and see the house for the first time....I love that FIRST reaction!!!!!! 8O 8O ......
My feeling is that people(or stores)are pushing Christmas this year. Whats the big rush :) I never decorate before my birthday witch was Friday. Dh asked me if I wanted him to get the tree out tonight and I said nooo, its too early(plus if he got it out I would have to clean).

If it was the 15th...then I would begin to panic, or maybe worry a little.
To me, the worst thing is starting to decorate & then having to stop in the middle & have the "clutter". So I decorate in steps. Main floor, family room, then all the snowmen come out. This is after Thanksgiving is all cleaned up , dogs groomed etc. so I have several days clear to finish after work each day. The tree goes up last because it takes so long. Last night I told my husband that I didn't want to put it up until NEXT Sunday. He thought that was too late. I told him I had something scheduled each day/evening for the next week except for Monday night & I didn't want the tree up & standing there undecorated. Now THAT starts to make me panic.
I have no idea how some of you CAN relax during the holiday season. I would enjoy it so much more that way, but with the amount of things that go on in the weeks to come ..........it's IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas parties, functions, family pictures, cards, gift-buying, gift-wrapping, having to still fit in football for hubby ;) , lil j's bday followed by joshee's, visiting family, dividing equal time between family members, grouchy drivers and increased traffic, mall shopping, fighting for the last bag of milk chocolate chips, baking all day and night, decorating the house and usually have to participate in helping someone else decorate theirs, feeding your family and usually preparing to feed a houseful of guests, and this year we've got the added stress of lil J starting pre-school in a week and getting everything needed done before that time, hitting a deer so driving only 1 car, a puppy, and whew....

I love Christmas and everything that comes with it, but it is tiring!!!!
Yes - I keep thinking there is lots to do and not much time to do it.

I have my list though and so now I just need to work through it

I think everyone panics but it always gets done in the end
And if it doesn't..............well Christmas dawns on Dec. 25th no matter what is left to do! Been there done that & the world didn't end. I think we all just try to make it a "perfect" time. Everyone seems to have a good time & enjoy it no matter what didn't get done! :)
We don't have much going on this year. Kids are young adults so no little kids to buy for, besides my hubby is trying to save $$$ this year so nothing to splurge with. I know there is still volunteering I can do, but when do I find the time, still working full time.

Ah but then the kids and gkids grow up and things become quiet and one almost misses all the hustle and bustle :D

Sure, I "know" that, but it doesn't stop that rushed, not enough hours in the day panic lol
Not really I usually leave everything till the last week then the panic starts, OOOOOH christmas is not far off now :twitch:

I always say I will get organised earlier but never do in the end then run around like a chook with its head cut off in a mad rush. :?
Im not sure that you could call what Im feeling "panic" exactly....Its more like..."Christmas????.....when did THAT sneak up on me???!!!!"

Im utterly unprepared....cards not done....shopping? what shopping?....yikes.

Im usually SO good about xmas stuff. I collect gifts all year long, make gifts starting in September, start wrapping/mailing in November....this year? HA!!!!! 8O

I am SO hosed.

Hey Ron....could we have THIS face with a Santa hat please???... 8O
