puppies never get tired

I have a 5.5 month oes male and he never runs out of energy. I take him to the park with a chuck it ball launcher and we play for 45min to 1 hour about three times a week. He also get a 30 to 45 min walk twice a day. How much exercise does a OES need? He never is short on energy

LOTS AND LOTS!
I also have a 5 1/2 month old who is a wild child!

He loves to play, play, play!

Is he in obedience classes?
That can exhaust a puppy mind....

Good Luck!!!!!!
lol ........I remember saying the same thing when our dog was a pup. Thankfully, ours calmed down at 2. It was a night and day difference.
A lady once said top me that Sheepies calm down at 2 years old.

george has calmed a little but he is still full of energy and bounce. Hes 2 now.

Some calm down at two. Some merely learn to refocus their energies better and get spastic say, at bed time, or when you're working on a project or... 8O

I have an 8 year old who plays vigourously and like a puppy. Except the chewing. But she has a wonderful off-switch too. This is such a perfect age... 8)

Your puppy sounds perfectly normal to me.

When you do tire one out, and they collapse into a full body sleep it's great. However, after eight minutes (if that) of power napping they are fully reset and ready to start all over again.

Aaahhhh....puppies. Why do you think nature makes them so cute? It's because they can't get by on their personalities until they're at least two years old (for a sheepie anyway). And even then...

Yesterday I had to scold our eleven year old with a fusing spine and significant back end weakness for repeatedly trying to jump on me (something he hadn't done is at least nine years...) Why? He got going playing with our puppy, and the energy was contagious. Even though with each rear up his back legs buckled, he wouldn't stop. He was in fully puppy mode.

The puppy thought it was awesome.

yeah and someone told me they get brains at three :D

Mine are a bit more sedate now that they are three - but still have way more energy than even our 10 month old newfie. the only time Morgan has no energy is when his lyme is acting up. my last OES didn't slow down until he was into double digits.
I love his mad few minutes when he races round the house or garden (or both) out of control with ears and hair flying!

Makes me laugh everytime he does it.

We just have to stay out of the way until its over!!
Yep, about a month or 2 before his 3rd birthday " the light came on ".
He settled, became more focused, and generally a wonderful dog to be around. They are diffinitely late bloomers.
Our pup is 4 1/2 months old. She actually sleeps quite a bit. Full speed!!! Sleep. FULL SPEED!! Sleep. PUPPY CRAZIES running around the house at full tilt!!! Sleep. MORE PUPPY PLAY CRAZIES!! More sleep.

Actually, we found she needs more sleep than we thought because when she doesn't get enough she becomes cranky, bitey, chews on us and the furniture, and she sasses  . Then we know she really needs a nap.
I love it when Summer goes out the back garden. She waits for the back door to be opened and she never mooches out. No! there could be a pesky cat somewhere in the garden, so she runs to the bottom of the garden under all the bushes, figure of 8 back to the top, OMG forgot the wheelbarrow behind that. OMG what about the side of the house? This is in about 10 seconds flat. Tilly just stands and watches her! Summer then has a wee or whatever she has gone out to do!

I'm waiting 8O
Bella is two and still bounces when we walk. A calm sheepie that's a concept. I think Syd started to calm down about 12.

Still ya got to love 'm.
Obe is now 2 yrs and 4 months, he has calmed down yes, thank goodness. Has he grown a brain? Not quite yet, close. I can start to see the light bulb come on, then I get what just happened. I want to attack the towel that is used to dry me off when I go out and play in the snow. It is just lying by the door, been there for a while now but I swear it was moving. Dad dont take it away, we can play tug of war with it instead of the actual toy.
Chauncey was almost 3 before he mellowed. Started to get some sense at 2 1/2.
Our little guy is 3 months today. I walk him between 4 and 5 miles a day and he does get a wee bit tired when we come back, but not for long. After all a Puppy is a Puppy and extra energy comes with the package. We were thinking about not feeding him for a week or so, just to see what happens. I hope he's not reading this.
Wear them out until they have no energy whatsoever, it makes little difference, 30 seconds later their batteries are fully topped up again
