Chasing down an OES lover

Yesterday my husband took the two dogs for a walk and I headed out to run a few errands. What did I spot? A car with a "I love my OES" bumper sticker. :clappurple: Since it was headed in the same direction, I followed along hoping the driver would pull into the neighborhood shopping center. And they did! They went through the drive-through at a fast food restaurant. While they waited in line, I jumped out of my car and waved at the driver.
Fortunately, the driver did not think I was weird in the least. :D In fact, she had seen my husband walking the dogs and had almost pulled over to talk to him.
We exchanged names and phone numbers. Another sheepie lover! Of course, I told her about this forum.

Ha, ha! I've done the exact same thing: see someone walking a sheepie, so I pull over to chat with them. You know, out of all the times I've done that, no one has thought me as weird. Sheepie lovers just "get it".
Thats so true, one day we were driving along and saw a lady with 3 OES in her (little) car and waved at her and pointed into the back seat where our two OES sit ,she smiled and waved and then I realised, hang on we dont have the dogs with us!
But she smiled and waved so either thought we were crazy or had seen us about and knew what we were on about.
My kids have always done "sheepdog alert" and even my workmates way back when I worked in an office, would tell me of any sightings they had on weekends.
I always stop and talk to anyone with an OES,my husband always says "please LOOk at the owner first, you never notice the person, only the dog, could be Charles Manson and you would still talk to him".
Once in the city,my sis and I spied this glorious sheepdog in full coat ,looking amazing,we both ran up to the owner and patted the dog and gushed on about how gorgeous the dog was,the owner chatted back, then we walked on and my sis said "Did you notice he was a bikie in full colours?",gulp,He seemd friendly enough!

OES must bring out the best in their owners. :D
Might be a good idea to get a baseball cap with an OES on it so you can do it and point to it when you encounter people. NEOESR used to have a window sticker with a sheepdog......wonder who has them now? Of course you could always wear your OES t-shirt and rip open your shirt every time you encounter another OES.

Friend had a hat and when looking for new homes here, saw two OES and jumped out of the car and started gushing about the dogs. The owner is ex-security as was at first "on alert" until he saw the cap......phew! Turns out one of the two sheepies was one of my rescues which friend knew about so answered, "Ah this Ben formerly Button." That helped too.
