wedding dress shopping Update: BOUGHT ONE!!!

I apologize because we didn't take any pics, but when we pick up the dress in APRIL (I know...I know...at least I don't need any alterations. this is just to get a new one my size) ...I will provide pics.

I will say today was not easy.

I never realized the dresses were so heavy.
Every time I tried on a new dress, I kept thinking the old one was still on because the slip and bra were sucking all the air out of me.

Mom and I got in a HUGE fight. We are not talking right now. :(

Here it is!!!

I only made the pic big because cut down small ...it does not show any details.

Today was the last day for David's Bridal Sale and this was an original from their collection. :D

We got 15% off everything and $200 off the dress price. We still ended up paying a TAD over $1,000 (sigh). Was not my plan or what I budgeted for. I TRIED not to get this dress, but my mom insisted. To be honest, I preferred one that was only $500, but I was not paying ...and being bossed around. You can probably still tell I'm bitter from our argument. Mom's!!!! ;)

Woo-who!!! Very pretty dress...and don't worry about your Mom, they come around eventually.
As soon as you get your dress make sure the length is going to be alright. A lot of times with wedding dresses, they are very long and almost always need hemmed. With your dress it would take a longer amount of time and cost extra$$$ because of the detail on the bottom.
I bought a sample dress that fit perfectly (actually looks a lot like yours!) the only problem was that it needed hemmed and it didn't have any decoration at the bottom and just to get it taken up 2 inches it cost $75.00! and took a week and a half!
Just some words of warning, there were some details about my wedding I had no idea about until they happened to me. Better safe than sorry...
The dress looks great!!
(Also, with the strapless tops make sure they are absolutely the right size. My top was corsetted, think Scarlett O'Hara hanging onto the bedpost, so nothing was going anywhere. Everytime someone saw my dress I got a story about "wardrobe malfunctions" due to loose fitting tops.)
thanks guys!

The dress doesn't need any alterations thankfully!!! Fits perfectly. I was so worried about it for the reasons you stated (cost plus i already got the dress last minute). I'm a 6' korean w/o shoes on, so nothing rarely needs to be hemmed. hehe

All of the strapless dresses come with the option of having straps, and I tried them with the spaghetti strap. I had an issue at another formal where my dress was slipping down all night, and I had a "uni-boob" going on... lol ...don't want that to happen again. then again, I can't imagine the girls moving at all considering how tight the bra (strapless from armpit to bellybutton) and slip (crazy tight from my armpit down) I wore. I do worry about "breathing" though.
don't be so hard on your mom! She's loving all this preparation and is probably both eager and afraid to see you walking down the aisle! My daughter's only 18, but whenever I think about her wedding day, I cry already! Can't imagine what I'll be like on the actual day!

Your dress is so beautiful. And with you being so tall, it will make it even more breathtaking. I know you don't go in for this "girly" stuff, but relax and enjoy your big day! And think of all the memories you'll have and will pass on to your kids!

my mom still won't talk to me. talk about the guilt i feel.

usually takes a couple of days before she cools down.
Well I have nothing to say...except be bery happy you have a mom. I am estranged from mine since I was 1 yr old...divorced parents. She came back for my 1/2 brother...not my dad's kid. Anyways, she left me behind.

So no mother...even tho you know where they are, and everything about them...is worse than having one mad at you for a few minutes.

If you want to enjoy your wedding, YOUR wedding, keep control. And if it is something you feel very firm about, stick to your guns. I never had anyone taking over, or telling me what to buy...so I can only imagine how emotional everything gets between moms and daughters. I envy some people to have such caring and always in your face kinda parents. I feel so alone, so go give her a big hug, and have a calm talk over coffee/tea...alcohol
Oh my!! That dress is gorgeous! It looks so elegant! You must post pictures of you in it!!
Daisie, that is very true. You are so sweet, and I am very thankful of all that my mom has given to me and how much she cares.
