How do you define what a hero is?

"Hero" doesn't even BEGIN to describe those two men!! I would love to know what happened to the captain and crew - if they were arrested and/or charged with anything. OMG!!!   |

| According to Captain Avranas, it was dark because the generator had flooded and he ordered it turned off. He felt if he abandoned ship he could better coordinate the rescue effort. He refused to apologize.
All I can find is he was stripped of his captain rank and given a jail sentence which was suspended (I guess because nobody died). He was later spotted running ferries in Greece. |

It's nice to know that there are still good people out there. People who will help others in a time of need. Too often it's every man for himself, or in this case, captian and crew.  I was raised to believe that you always do whatever you can to help, and even though I'm not a social person, I will help anyone I see in need. I really hope that captain and crew will pay for their cruelty to their fellow man, if not in this life, in the hereafter or next life, whichever it may be. |
