Hey Congratulations!!!!!!
Share the news!!!! :?:
not mine to share - other than to say they did good.

can someone edit my topic ttle for me? I knew I shouldn't post without spell checking after a late night ride home last night
Congrats to both!!

I have Macy's news - Chewie would love to share about his sister!

Macy got her 2nd major yesterday with BOW/BOS in the Saturday show. Also picked up the available point in the Thursday show.

Yay Macy and Kristine!!

:cheer: :yay: :yay: :go: :go: :cheer:
Oops! Thanks for sharing, Kerry

There is even BIGGER news from today. Now to see if Marilyn reads this after she gets home :D

It was a fabulous weekend. Got to catch up with Kerry, got to meet Lorie(d) & hubby & OES Elliott and watch their Jazz win Best Puppy in Match! :D And then to top that off I finally got to (really) meet Marilyn/ChSheepdogs and spend some time with her today. A wild and hairy weekend. Lovely entry, lots of fun and a chance to also catch up with some other breed/Health & Research people I don't see very often.

Mace had fun and as Dawn mentioned we picked up five pts including her second major, so much relieved not trying to find one of those over the winter. 8O Actually, winter has hit so I may be spending a little extra time with my folks. Hopefully Sybil won't cost me anything additional beyond the shoes she "redesigned".

Kristine
so snow did happen?

and I didn't share - just prompted others to do so.

Have a great visit with the family and you know poor sybil had a ride home with me

Poor Sybil wishes she had gone home with you. She's sick of Princess Macy getting (almost) all of the attention. MAce is just happy I'm letting her walk around without boots and a rain jacket. The jacket gave her a wedgie when she tried to potty. Very unprincessly-like, wedgies are.

Snow hasn't hit Syracuse just yet. Later tonight and especially during the day tomorrow, supposedly. I looked at the lake effect warnings in Erie and Cleveland and thought, oh, no, I'm not ready for this! Ugh!

Kristine
Congrats!
Perfect opportunity to check out how that new van handles in snow and ice.......

Seriously though, mine all did great in the winter weather. I busted through all kinds of drifts out in the country on our gravel roads. :D :D
Hot here we had 35c the other day and not into summer yet :P

Congrats to all and well done also to Lori's Jazz AWESOME KIDDO. :D

Well done to Macy on her Major, WOO HOO not long to go now, well done to you all. :clappurple:

Yes, believe it or not, I am up at 1:10 AM after a grueling 8 hour ride home. Normal driving time is 6-1/4 hours. Snow???? You better believe it :!: I hit the snow right before Erie, PA. Thanks to Chris Gaburri who was about 1 hour ahead of me on the road, I was prepared for it. 2 times I considered stopping & staying over night. But with an intact male & a bitch that surprised me by coming into season early (after dinner on Saturday) 8O I decided to tough it out & say my prayers. The only way to see was to follow the tail lights ahead of you & hope they weren't driving off the road!

As for the "news", Jose finished his Championship Sunday by going winners dog & picking up his last major. After being pointed out since last January & hunting majors (that are scarcer than hens' teeth) for 9 months we got one last weekend & the final one this weekend. Needless to say, I am very proud of my first home-bred champion & finished out of the bred-by exhibitor class.

As Kristine mentioned earlier, the competition was lovely & what was even nicer was how nice & friendly everyone was! It was so nice to get to meet up with people I don't see very often & others that I got to meet for the first time. A very well worthwhile trip in many ways!

Hey!! Does that mean he gets an invitation to Eukanuba next year? :D

Congratulations again! And it was wonderful getting to meet him afterwards. He looked gorgeous and he's such a love bug.

I'm so sorry you got stuck driving in that white stuff. That area is nasty when it comes to the snow due to the hills anyway. I'm still planning my duck and dodge trip home. All-wheel drive or not, I hate driving in it and even more so when I have the dogs with me. Happy you made it home safe!

Kristine
congrats Marilyn. sorry I missed you on Saturday.

Oh driving out past erie in the snow - been there done that, I do not envy you.

Glad to hear you made it home safely.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
congrats to you Marilyn and Jose!

:clappurple: :go: :clappurple: :go:
Congratulations to both of you.
Thanks everyone!!! And Congratulations to eveyone else :D I was so glad to meet most of you guys, and wish I had met the rest of you. I wish I had known who the other forum people were. Marilyn, were you guys set up behind us on Sat.? Someone had a pup with them named Earl? We moved, Sat. afternoon, because there was a place next to Jere, and we have no idea when we would see her again. Also the lady next to us with the Irish setters really was not to pleased to have us near her bcause of the chalk   So I hardly put a thing on Elliott, I was afraid of her

Yes, that was us. Chris Gaburri has the puppy named Earl. I had the 2 (a girl & a boy) in the crates right next to the Irish setters. If you think she was upset about chalk you better believe she was probably more upset the next day when she heard me say my girl had come into season unexpectedly early the night before! And no, I did NOT move my girl! I figured if my boy had to sleep in the same motel room with her & ride home to Ohio with her right next to him in their crates, then her dogs could tolerate it for the time we'd be at the show on Sunday!
Unfortunately, I always feel I need more time at the shows to visit with people. We are always so busy grooming & getting ready for the ring that most of the time we never have the time to visit. This set of shows I made a bit more time for that. I figured with an expected 6-1/2 hour drive home (turned into over 8 hours with the snowstorm) I might as well visit with some of these people I had never met before or those that I don't get to see very often. It's a very good way to learn new stuff about the breed!

LOL, I know some Irish Setter people that might have been there... :lmt: They could have gotten even with you with you with the baby oil & red stuff they put on their dogs.

Congrats everyone, although I'm still not clear where the heck the show was!!!
The show was in Syracuse, NY at the New York State Fairgrounds. Nice location & nice building.

OMG! I completely forgot about the Eukanuba thing! Everyone is expecting me to shave himn down ASAP & they can't understand that he doesn't have that hard of a coat to maintain! Being correct, it doesn't mat as easily as some of them out there. I figured I'd leave him in coat until the Pittsburgh specialty at the end of March 2009. Depending on where & when Eukanuba is held in 2009 I may consider it!
José says thanks for the new nickname. Nobody has ever called him that before! He kinda likes it!

I had 3 people want to know if I stopped on the way home & got him his ice cream cone! Imagine asking for an ice cream cone for your dog in the middle of a blizzard! I guess it goes back to the day I bribed Pippin to get his last point to finish! I had a serious discussion with him & told him I'd buy him an ice cream cone if he perked up & won that day & by golly he did! His owner about died! She recorded it with snapshots & the expression on his face when he discovered he liked the taste was unbelievable! She swears he now expects one everytime he wins! I secretly think she gets a kick out of the other peoples' expression when they see an OES in full coat eating a vanilla ice cream cone! But I digress....José will have to wait a few days until it warms up for his treat.

As for the nasty white stuff....living in northeast Ohio, I am used to it. You know, lake effect weather. I just take it easy & put the advance track on. I worry more about the people behind me traveling too close when I have my guys crated in the van. My husband was more upset than anyone. He just can't believe I'd travel that route this time of year! I can't get im to understand what routes we OES people will travel for a chance at a major

I hope Kristine doesn't run into much of it on the way home. I expect most of it will be on the ground by the time she heads west. And picking up all those nice points on her pretty little bitch has to make the ride home sweeter.
Woohoo! Congrats!
