peeing in the house

Since the time changed moon ray started peeing in the house. I walk him in the mornig before work and when I get home nothing has changed in our schedule except when I'm unlocking the door he's peeing it just happens before I walk in. He hates the crate do to his first 8 month of abuse, so I really hated to put him in their today but my rug is now a swamp. Help is this going to stop?

Sounds like he forgot to change his clock 8)
Is there anyway to change your schedule so that you can gradually change his? Maybe leave 30 min early and come home 30 min early for a few days to see if this helps, then lenghten it by a few mins?
Yes I thought if i left later and came home earlier I would caught him. But no that didn't work either. He is now 16 months old and when I let him out last night he acked like his leb was broke limping for 5 min. till he streched and peed like you wouldn't beleive. A freaking river yes out side in his spot. Good boy so I know he can hold it. Well today I could not get him in the crate for nothing he acted like I was killing him I tried 2 time and gave up. So I will see what happens. He thinks his crate is a bad thing and is deathly afraid of it so I don't try to much. He was shaking so bad I terrifed him and I worked so hard to get him this far I hate to reverse him with this problem. Why does he want to pee in the house? What else can I try. 8) 8) I guess I will see what happens today.
you need to work on making the crate a good thing. feed him in his crate etc. he'll soon go in there with no problem.
moon ray is a rescue dog that had terrible issues from the crate. He had his leg stuck in the cage and chewed it free, and since a puppy untill I got him he shared it with an other one. They kept 2 to a small cage crate for 8 months and only let them out 2 hours a day to eat and potty. so if they didn't do it then they soiled in it. He had a very bad intestinal infection and craked teeth from the wire and fighting for his food. I have a huge crate, plastic with side vents and planty of room. I put treats in it and his favorit food and toys. No way is it going to happen. I hate to force him like I did today because it will only tramatize him again. He was litterly shaking with fear, that's why I did not force him any more. He has been so good till now, until the time changed, unless it's something else. No infection seems to the problem cause it doesn't stink, and over the weekend I had no problems. I can put his favorite toy in their and he will claw at the crate and whinn till I get it out but he will not go in it. It took 2 of us to get him in when I first got him, do to the liquied poop problem which got solved. OOOhhhhh my poor sheepie. I love him to death so lets hope he's being good today. :o
just lkeep at it you can make the crate a good place- perhaps find a larger crate that looks nothing like the crate he used to be in - use an xpen? he really needs to learn to be comfortable in a confined space incase he needs to be vetted etc. it may not be the answer for your now issue - it is a problem that needs to be worked on. and the history does and doesn't matter. he is not a rescue dog - he is your dog and has a fear of crates.
Yes he total is my dog and he knows that and trusts me. the xpen sound good but I have nowhere to put that up. Yes the vet is an issue and he's been their for his teeth and they had a hard time too. and muzzled him. So he has to work on that too. well I shampped and cleaned the rugs up now they have to dry and I will be trying to crate him again in the morning, till I think he stops. Thank you and I will let you know what happens.
Do you have another area that you could confine him in during this transition time? Perhaps a room that doesn't have carpet or a rug to soil? Somewhere big enough that it won't freak him out like the crate would, but that would be easier to clean if he does have an accident? :?

Bless his heart. I am sure you can re-train him to the new schedule, but it will be a little while.
Yes I was thinking of that. The bath room but then I would have to get a gate that he won't tear up. I'm afraid if I shut the door he will tear it up trying to get out. I could not get him in the crate again this morning, no accident yesterday. But I had a freind let him out at noon. I shampooed the carpet and I hope he knows I bussness and waits till I get home. If not. I will have to get some one in the morning to come and help me get him in the crate. I have a spot to corner him in where his comfy bed is which he will still be able to look out the window, 2 walls so I just have to block off 2 other sides. Well thanks every one for your help at least now I know it is not a normal sheepie issue I'm dealing with and hope this passes over soon, going on week 2 with this problem and I hope he is waiting for me to come home. Our monrings have really been undesirable with frighting him.
The gated bathroom sounds like a good idea. We used a gate when Chaunce was weening from the crate.
well I think moon ray has decided to wait for me now. 2 days without peeing in the house!!!!!!  I will still work on him to crate or gate him thanks agin. Debbie
as a breed i am beginning to believe their purpose is to teach us patience

good news
My baby just recently got it all backwards. Was doing really good not peeing in the house and all of a sudden he starts peeing in our room. I thought he was mad at us the first couple of times...but now it seems like he waits to come inside and do it.

I have to admit, I got a little upset with him and yelled at him and did the whole training thing all wrong... So I ended up here for help...

What could have happened in the last week that makes him think inside is the place to pee?
how old is Wafflez? Is it possible its a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)? That can often be the culprit in unexplained urination habit changes.
no because he holds for 10 hours at night. I caught him drinking out of the tolite so I think he was drinking my than letting him out. So now moon ray has been good for all weekend and 3 days at work. I have him confinde to a room right now with no water access, till I get home. The crate scared him or he's back to normal. I really don't think its an infection because it doesn't smell nasty. Just pee pee. I also for got to take his water up when I left today so This will bee the challenge is it the water or can he hold it. good luck

night time is different, their organs like ours work differently at night and the need to pee isn't the same. I have had this conversation with my husband a numebr of times.

an infection may not smell and depending on the age of the dog I would not want to restrict water too much during the day.
well he didn't pee today so I think he is back on schedule and I think it was the extra water he was drinking out of the tolets I caught him over the weekend doing it so, it was something new he learned nd I guess I was slow to catch on till I caught him then the light bulb went off. Thank you every one for your help. Debbie
