What is the best insured therapy dog program?

Could someone tell me the best therapy organization that is insured and I could get evaluated with? I am hoping that it will be an organization that in nationally recognized because I am going to have to make a cross country move shortly.

I can't recall our coverage (through Therapy Dogs International) - the dollar amt.
We are insured, although thankfully no one in our chapter, with a 23 year history, has ever had need of it!!!
That's exactly who I was looking at. Are there any other reputable organizations?
When I was making my decision on which group to join in my area, I called a few hospitals and asked if there were any pet therapy programs and which groups conducted visits. Then I called the various organizations...2 at the time...TOUCH and the Humane Society. I talked to the directors of the programs, got info and made my choice.

I did not make my choice on the amount of insurance coverage they had, but what the criterea they required. Again at the time I started with TOUCH, only 30% of the dogs tested passed temperament which told me that they were very, very picky about their TOUCH dogs. We also, at that time had to go through a 9 week program (if memory serves... ) and now the program is 12 weeks.

Again...with proper training of both the 2 legged and 4 legged team members, insurance is never an issue---As with Dawn's group, there has never been an incident in TOUCH history.

Good luck and keep us posted....
When I looked for a therapy dog group I looked into the ones that did visits near me(we are in the boonies) I went with Pets On Wheels Guinness had a very strict temperment test. They really put him through some paces. and pulled his poor ears so hard it hurt me to watch. He is insured for one million. My dogs are also insured through my home owners for the same amount. I did not know this at the time I put in an application just wanted a group thst had facilities near me. Good luck in your search.

I will admit we picked Therapy Dogs International simply based on the fact that they were conveniently testing at our day care. I read up n the organization itself but never looked at any others.
