who is guilty?

Now that the election is over, I can share this little story.

A friend's husband is retired big time government security type. He has their house surrounded by outside surveillance equipment...no, other than his computers they don't have much. (He's a bit nuts.....but I digress...)

He noticed his McCain yard sign was gone. So he played his security disks and sure enough, there was a young man pulling the McCain sign off the stand. "Well, the little s...," my friend's hubby thought and went and got another sign. This time he stapled it so it could not be easily lifted from the frame.

The next day the sign was gone. Back to the security disks and this time it was a Little Old Lady, wearing bermuda shorts, tank top and floppy hat. Only this time it wasn't as simple to remove the sign. She tried lifting it off but soon found that wasn't going to work. She tried tearing it off, but there were enough staples to build a new house holding that sign together. She tried kicking it with her foot (granny must work out at the near by Judo place) but the paper held. She tried cutting it with a nearby stone. Nope. (tuff cardboard!!) Finally Grannie went for the stand. Like the Big Bad Wolf, she huffed and puffed, pulled and twisted.... (by this time my friend and her husband are laughing watching this disk)...and finally pulled the sign from the ground, carried it over to where her dog was patiently waiting and continued on. THE DOG!!! My friends went back to the first tape and sure enough there was a dog with the young boy....and it was the same dog!

So who is at fault? The young boy? The grandmother? Or the dog who was present for both cases of vandalism?

This smells very Son of Sam.
Well, the common denominator is the dog.Sadly some dogs do round up people and cause them to vandalize peoples property, its just a fact of life.I think he wasnt loved enough as a puppy,he had to share his mothers attention with too many siblings.
The sign must have been covering up the pooch's favorite watering spot.

Did you know it's a crime to tamper with a political sign?

I didn't. But I read it on the 'net so it must be true.
