Halloween Horror!

Husband and I return home from a day in town, going there and there. We are greeted at the gate by the gang, lots of barking, "Welcome home, Where ya been" type stuff. As I sat behind the steering wheel waiting for husband to open gate, Jack sheepdog turns towards house to run to the garage and wait for us. As he turns he exposes his rear end to us, completely covered in Yellow Diarrhea. EEEEuuuuuwwww! Long hair completely coated, chunks dropping off ..... 8O This is one scary site, knowing you'll soon be washing that off. So much for trick or treat.

Now he's clean, shaved rump and Pepto Bismol pink on his throat from where Mom couldn't quite get it all in.

YUCK! Been there, done that
Eww how scary. I didn't know you could give pepto bismol to dogs, that's useful to know.
I don't keep them on it long, just enough to start the healing process. Also once they get a whiff and taste, future doses are even harder to give. All except Jack who probably loves the stuff. There hasn't been a thing he won't eat, and no doubt the reason for his latest "Pucky Problem." He's on rice for awhile. There is a wayward pumkin from neighbor's patch on our side of fence, maybe that will be Jack's. (they haven't harvested any of them) Maybe he started on it early.....better go check for teeth marks
poor jack....hope he feels better....and whats not to like about the taste of peptol bismol?

That is the most vile nasty stuff. My mom tried to give it to me as a child. I vomited more than ever - spewing nasty pink stuff all over.

Agree! Hate that stuff! :P

For diarrhea I give my pups a can of 100% pumpkin puree. Stops the diarrhea and makes their poop smell really nice.

I hope he is better now!
:D 8O :D 8O Willoughby takes his peptobismal inside a tiny peanut butter sandwich. I use caplets as they are easier to manage. 8)

Ah, but where the fun trying to get the liquid down them and not ON them or ON you? (make note to self, get the tablets!)

Jack is better. All solid and clear rear.
When Daisy was having her Chemotherapy the vet advised Pepto-Bismol to help with the sickness and we gave it to her in a syringe without a needle. ..........I still have pink stains on various places that just won't wash out!!
Glad Jack is feeling better. I have had luck with the Pepto tablets - I just put them in the back of Winston't throat and down they go.
Last night when I got home late, Jack met me at the gate, barking with Poop Breath.

He had a big drink before we came and I thought, Good, he's washing his own mouth. Later when I sat down and he climbed onto the sofa next to me the smell was back. Then I notied Poop Boots. So the mouth smell was from him trying to clean his feet.

I shamefully admit I knew which side was pooped so when I asked my huband to help be clean Jack, I got on the clean side  We wiped down feet, but hubby's side needed to have the feet soaked. Jack was not amused. When it was time for "last call" he ran out and laid down and would not let my husband approach him or respond to a come command. Finally his need to be with me overcame his offended nature, LOL! Eventually he and husband made up.

I've forgotten. Once the sprinkler system is off and no longer melting poop into the soil, it's time to get the bucket and shovel and clean the yard so Poop Boots don't reoccur.
